BLOG HIATUS

Will not blog until I'm better.
Don't worry, I'm fine.
It's just that I've been writing entries but I keep deleting them before I even hit the publish button.

Yehey!

Today mom, Lola and I went to Trinoma. They actually went to the dentist because Lola had to fit her dentures then I just met up with them at the mall.

Lola wanted a haircut so I brought her to Acqua Salon. On our way there...OMG...There was a WWF Booth along the hallway. Does it ring a bell? Well, remember the interview I ran away from? That's what they do! The trainees are sent to do fieldwork either in the mall booths or office areas to find donors for their clients- in this case WWF. I walked briskly to avoid them- to my horror, I recognized one of the people at the booth. She was the officer I had my fieldwork with. OMG. And the other one was my classmate in my orienteering class back in junior year in UP. Grabe, my mom kept teasing me. She said she'll tell Daddy about it. HAHAHA

Anyhooo, back to the haircut...Lola's cut was done by Mr. Narry. I signed up next since there were a few people at that time and I have always wanted to try out the style of Mr. Narry. MYGOSH for the second time in that salon, I didn't make it to his salon seat. A different stylist arrived just a few minutes before I was called to the seat. KALOKA DIBA? Parang twice I tried na, and twice I failed. Swerte ng Lola ko. haha I shall try for the third time. haha Feeling ko kasi siya yung pinaka magaling sa kanila coz people really set an appointment with him. Oh, which reminds me, on my third try, I will set an appointment. But my cut was also good. So I guess they're all good in Acqua.  The best part? Lola paid for my haircut. YAY!

We walked around the mall and dropped by Charles and Keith. Earlier I already saw a pretty bag. When I showed it to mom, she liked it and approved of it so I decided to get it. My mom looked around and saw all the pretty black bags they had. I asked her to choose. She checked a few bags but she didn't want me to buy it for her. While paying, mom and Lola waited for me outside the store. I told the saleslady to get me a new stock of the bag my mom chose and got it for her. I gave it to mom and she asked 'Ano toh?' I said 'Binili ko para sayo. Graduation gift.' Wala lang, I think mom deserves some special treatment coz she always puts herself last. Usually she doesn't buy her bags because she can always borrow from me.

The cutest surprise of the day was when Julian, Sarah and Jom followed to Trinoma as well. Wala lang, I just love it when we're all together. Sana nga Dad and Joop flew in also but Joop has school so he can't just come over. I'm really excited for Joop to enter college. We're all gonna be together here in Manila.

HAAAY WHAT A DAY. Next week I'll probably have dinner with my non-BA friends and also a separate dinner with the Wonder Girls. Then in August, Bicol work trip with Dad. I'm excited!

RUNAWAY

No, it's not the song in Ryan and Juday's wedding. It's more like... I RAN AWAY FROM AN INTERVIEW. hahaha

Yesterday I went to Makati for my last set of interviews for a certain company. To my surprise, they sent us with their officers to join them in their field work.  THE IDEA OF DOING FIELD WORK KILLED ME. But I still went on with the field work. I was assigned to Ian and Rina- two of the business development officers of the company. We walked around the Makati business district and I was wearing heels.

When we got to the first building, the back of my heels were already injured- as in tuklap level (fudger!). I wanted to change into my sandals because Ms. Rina was wearing flats also. I asked her if I could change, she allowed me naman but Sir Ian wouldn't stop walking. I don't want to get lost so I endured wearing heels until around 12 noon. We stopped at MiniStop (haha no pun intended) and FINALLY I was able to change into my flats. Ian discussed a lot of stuff about the company and quizzed me about it. He then revealed what my practical exam was... TO SELL MY CELLPHONE TO HIM kunyari. I SUPER DIED AT THIS POINT. I WANTED TO RUN OUT OF MINISTOP AND RIDE A CAB. I hate being sales-talked so how much more do the talking diba? I felt it was total BS doing the job (face to face marketing).

We left MiniStop and moved to two more buildings. Finally he made me do my sales pitch- IN THE ELEVATOR. I ALMOST FAINTED. I FELT LIKE I WAS BEING BULLIED IN A STUPID WAY. Well he said I did a good job in the pitch. And then fa-hay-na-leeeeh, he sent me back to the office. I made my way out of the building, called up my mom and said I'm leaving. I walked along Valero Street, not sure if it's the right way. Thank goodness there are Makati roving guards who were kind enough to tell me where to go.

I finally saw the building, made my way to the lobby and got my ID. I went back to the office but the receptionist was not at her desk so I decided to call her on the phone. It was a crazy idea because I was just at the opposite wing of the same floor. I can even see her as we talk. After informing them that I won't continue with the last part of the interview, it felt so free I could scream. It was one of the best feelings in this part of my life. So I guess it was the right thing to do. I just didn't want to waste their time and mine since I know in my heart that I won't be taking that job.

I rode a cab to Greenbelt to meet up with mom. I texted her "Ikain mo ako ha? Hindi pa ako naglalunch." She did feed me! We even bought Sebastian's ice cream. Yehey! We didn't stay long in Makati. We rode the MRT to Trinoma and did our malling there. Glorietta is just too weird now that almost half of it is covered. Greenbelt is kinda nakakailang when you don't have enough funds to shop around. In Trinoma we just looked around and took home Brothers Burger for dinner. We just kept laughing about my crazy day.

And now I'm enduring probably a week or two of painful and throbbing back-of-heel injury. It super hurts but it doesn't matter. It's over now.

TEST SHOTS

I got my new Nikon D60 DLSR last Friday. My lola arrived from the States and she hand carried the cam so it was the first thing she took out when she got here.

Saturday night I studied Nikon tutorials on Youtube and eagerly tried the concepts I learned the day after.

Here are the best shots so far. I placed my name in the barest parts of each frame so it wont cover even the minute details in the photo. FYI, None of these shots were taken in the auto mode. HAHA!

Now I have something to play with so that I won't get bored. I hope everyone's doing good!

Things people write on Facebook

I just want to quote witty, cute, funny posts by my contacts on fb.

Here's one from Ching:
Two Types of People in the world

Type I - they are the ones who wear rose-colored glasses, believe in destiny and that their Prince Charming exists. They just don't have any idea who it is. They wait all their lives for The One to arrive, having no clue who He may be, but when He arrives, they welcome their love with open arms and gratefulness. A longing exists, as well as the pondering whether you would be alone or not..a longing for someone to walk in your life and sweep you off your feet.

Type II - they're really not much different from Type I. But Type II are people who in contrast with Type I have no clue in the first place what love's all about... until they meet The One at the onset of their lives. The One is the reason they hold on to the belief in destiny, and for them there is only ONE Prince Charming. They may welcome love once in a while, but their heart doesn't really rest until it is with The One. And this is what they wait and long for all their lives... hoping their one and only Prince Charming comes back.

Here's from Zahara: If I won't have it, you won't either! hahaha talk about selfishness.

Some people treat is as Twitter and I'm like...wait lang, post on twitter nalang. Pati yung kinakain nila at the moment, they post pa on fb. nakakaloka. haha

Here's a little message from Christine of Happyslip.

MEGA UPGRADE

I like facelifts (I mean home facelifts, renovations, etc.) but I think this has just gone overboard.

Our house is being renovated in preparation for Lola's arrival at 11 am later. Hours ago, I saw the manongs scrubbing the pebble and concrete walkway outside the garden. And Im like HELLO?! Tinatapakan kaya yan ng tao tapos katabi pa mga lupa at halaman. Bakit kelangan pa i-scrub?

I pitied the manongs doing it but they seem to be so used to the work. I was never even called to help in the cleaning and renovation of the house. For the past few days, I have been pitying the manongs and I feel so bad about it because there's really nothing wrong with what they're doing. And my gosh, they clean better than me. They've scrubbed every corner of the house, repainted the farthest windows, and cleaned the decades-old dust in every little carved part of each furniture here at home. They restored every table that has cracked and lost its luster over the years. (You'd actually think it was new!) They swept every clump of dust behind the tv, strangled in the wires of the sound system. They wiped every shampoo bottle in my bathroom because it's been covered in paint ash during the repainting. The best I can do was greet them hello when they greet me good morning or good evening, provide them merienda or just being cooperative when they're cleaning like not walking on the newly mopped floor. Basically just being nice to them. I have no idea how much they're paid to do these things. But I hope they're paid well because they really did a goooood job. You should see the house now. haha

Hours ago also, my uncle came home with a new 32" plasma tv. AND THIS WAS WHAT PISSED ME SO MUCH. I like the tv but I don't think we need a new one. Not just that ha! Complete with sound system which really got into my nerves because the tv here is just 4 years old. They got it when I moved here for college (thank you for that). It's still in tip top shape. Then two years ago my dad received from Lolo (his dad) a home theater system which we installed on the tv. (We never even used it because the tv's speakers are more than enough.) So I can't find a reason to justify it. Sayang sa pera. Probably it is part of the upgrade but they should have just repaired the bathroom and rooms upstairs, changed the stove, bought a new baking oven, restored the library, or just save the money.

Haaay. I just feel like it's OA na. My lola's staying for two weeks only so I really feel they're over preparing. Oh well. My mom said I shouldn't react too much because I didn't spend a cent for it anyway. She's right. But I still wish the money was spent in a different way. Now 'my' tv is going in the master's bedroom and the tv there is going upstairs. I dunno what to say.

Gee, thanks.

*I will post photos if I get the chance to take some. hehe

MICHAEL JACKSON

I CANNOT EFFIN BELIEVE I DID NOT STAY UP LATE TO WATCH MICHAEL JACKSON'S MEMORIAL.

I really didn't expect (how stupid, I know) that it's gonna be THIS BIG. Now I have to satisfy myself with excerpts on the news.

AND OMG NAIIYAK AKO SA MGA CLIPS. Grabeeeeeh. I super wanna watch the whooole memorial. I hope someone uploads a torrent of this one.

(edited: 20 seconds after posting this, Chuvaness posted the video of THE WHOLE MEMORIAL. I SOOOO LOVE YOU, CHUVANESS! Check out her site or this link

I remember in grade school, I danced ballet to the tune of Heal the World during our foundation day. Oh san ka pa diba? hahaha Yes, I used to dance ballet. hehe

Michael's death proved to me that we never really see someone's worth until he's gone. I took his existence for granted. But I think it was mainly because I didn't grow up during his super peak years. I mean, when I gained consciousness in this world, he was already filled with controversies so I had no idea how phenomenal he was.

I only found out when he died that the songs I've been singing in my younger years were his original songs. I didn't know Smooth Criminal was his song. I thought it was Red Hot Chili Pepper's original. I thought I'll be there is Mariah's song tapos ka duet si Michael. Baliktad pala. Jackson 5 pala ang original.

There are so many things I didn't and will never know about him. But no matter how crazy the controversies about MJ, I believe that the real Michael is still the good father that Paris and her brothers had and the great singer whose songs will forever live and even surpass this generation.

Rest in peace Michael.

LONGCHAAAAMP!

I don't know why but I am currently crazy about Longchamp totes. You'd probably think it's just the same nylon tote. Yes- the design isn't much to rave about. But the colors- CAPITAL OMG. I really don't want to have any major purchases now until I get a job but seriously? haha (Btw, major purchase yan because at my current financial status, that's gonna take up a hefty percentage from my allowance. hehe)

Here are the ones I fell in love with.

Longchamp Planetes in Mastic and Sand.

Longchamp totes cost at at least P5,000 when converted but the ones in the pictures cost 7ish. Not at the LV level but then again, I'm not an LV type of person so this is a pretty good deal for my money. Longchamp is available locally in Rustan's but they don't have much variety. Most of the ones they sell here are the Le Pliage ones.  So now I dunno how to get the ones I like. haha

I know there are so many other things I can worry about. Sorry. This is just something to motivate me to work hard so I can satisfy my wants.

Which reminds me...I'm flying back to Manila this Sunday. It's one week earlier than I planned. I just need to attend to some interviews which I can't further reschedule. It's all good. My soul searching was successful. I know what I want to do. They're still cluttered in my mind but it's safe to say they're clear and just needs to be chronically arranged. Reading business magazines and Kerygma helped me a lot. It's amazing how God works through the people around you to help you realize your goals. Hay, I'm excited for the future. I'm been praying hard for it. The answers will come at the right time. I'm positive about it.

Special shout outs:
Ace, get well soon!
Emm, good luck with work! Ayiiiieee! Makati girl! hahaha
Raish, go go attorney! I hope the hotdog eating contest was good. haha
Ma'am Gamo, I hope you're doing good. See you when we work on that best seller.
Doods, haha penge donuts! Just kidding!
