Can't help it!

I consider talking about Kris and James in Twitter offensive just because I myself find it trivial compared to the problems our new president will be facing. I did however react and sympathize with the 'end of the marriage'. So let me do it in this invisible space in cyber world.

Ever since Kris made The Buzz a venue for Noynoy's free advertising during the campaign period, I willingly boycotted it on my Sunday schedule. But this Sunday I made time for The Buzz because it's Kris Aquino's last day- hurray! Here goes the eksena of the year- she declares that she has given up on James and their marriage is over. WHOA, as if the whole Philippines didn't see it coming.

I personally had that thought at the back of my mind after Pres. Cory passed away. She was always the reason why Kris and James stuck together. Now that she's gone, what do we expect- she'll appear in the mirror and scare the shit in James to stay with Kris? Of course not. She's too good a soul and she probably knows it's not entirely James's fault.

I said earlier I sympathize with the end of the marriage but for the record: I am Team James. Not because I hate Kris or Noynoy Aquino- I'm trying to be objective here. (FYI I like Kris UNTIL the campaign started. )

Anyway, so why am I Team James? Or better yet why do I feel like it's Kris's fault?

1. She talks too much! She can't help but divulge things that's supposedly kept within the four walls of their home. If she has a problem with James, WHY TELL THE WHOLE PHILIPPINES? Naturally, everyone will be curious, you keep talking to the press about it, irritating James which will lead to another big fight. IF THERE'S ANYONE HERE KRIS SHOULD TALK TO, IT'S GOT TO BE JAMES. If only she took less time talking to the press and made more time communicating with James, I'm sure things will work out. Like they say, constant communication is key.

2. AYAW PATALO. James is bida in the hardcourt but other than that, it's Kris and her endless talk. I've read on Chuvaness that Kris embarrasses James all the time. Like when they were buying a car, the sales assistant asked which car James wants and then Kris was the one who answered and declared she should pick coz she's the one paying for it anyway. They were with a teammate of James that time. I could tell- he wish he wasn't there to witness the humiliation.

3. Boy Abunda. We all know he's the best friend of Kris. I'm sure we all have our best friends and we know very well that best friends DO NOT meddle with marriage. Not that we're married. But to reveal to the public the things that your best friend is going through- NOT GOOD. Unless of course, it's with Kris's consent- then let's go back to the first point. Every time Kris gets interviewed, lumalabas si James ang mali. And Boy starts sympathizing with Kris and saying all the good things to make her feel good. But what about James? He doesn't have a king of talk as his best friend. He never got to defend himself- and he never will. Coz Kris will negate it anyway.
That's my top three. I've lots of sub-points pa but that'd be a waste of time.

But of course you may say James is babaero. That's like the only thing being linked to him. I do not support being babaero- I definitely despise that but nothing was ever proven. Having a busy wife is not a reason to find another woman. But then again, maybe it's not about being busy. It's about the wife- in general. I guess they're just not made for each other.

Okay, I rest my case. I just hope that episode of The Buzz will be the last time we see a Kris Aquino drama. Really, six quiet years would change this country.

Oh, one last! Given that Kris already left their condo, and since she sold their house in Pasig to help in the elections, I have this feeling she and the kids will live with Noynoy in the Palace. HERE WE GO AGAIN! hahaha

CRAZY SATURDAY!

I hope all my friends are safe. It was flooding everywhere yesterday. I texted some friends to check if they're okay. Emm was quick to reply that they're okay. I'm worried about Fa, Sherry and Claude. They live in Greenpark, Katipunan and LGV respectively- all reported to be flooded.

I am very thankful that my dad and I are safe. Sarah and Julian are safe in San Mateo and my brother is safe at the apartment in Pasay.

Anyhoo, here are a few pictures I found on Facebook. Grabeh.
Marikina River Banks. The Marikina river extends to LGV.

Mercedes in LGV- ouch! (bili ka nalang bago. hehe)

Still in LGV.
Punky said there was MAJOR bayanihan in the village (her best friend Nowie lives there). Artistas helped rescue neighbors. Even Nowie's house became an evacuation center. I haven't heard from Claude yet. But I hope they're okay. Last thing I heard from her- even neighbors with Porsche cars are evacuating. (eeek!)

Araneta Avenue

That's Cristine Reyes on their roof. Btw she was rescued by Richard Gutierrez daw at around 2-ish AM. I heard from RuffaG on twitter. :)
Katipunan Ave.

Park 9, Katipunan

Exelsior (I dunno where this is exactly)

Grabe talaga. Super kawawa yung mga tao.

I hope by the end of the day, everyone is in a safe place already.

My dental operation has been cancelled for the nth time. This time it's because of the flood. The clinic is in Philcoa and last night it was flooding there so my dad decided not to push through today. I can't contact the clinic though. No landline. Cellphone networks are busy. I'm sure doc figured out the situation anyway. haha

Oh, one more thing. I think the lesson learned here would be we really have to care for the earth more. I agree with the weather officials that this is an effect of climate change- stronger rains, hotter days. This is not about how inefficient the rescue teams are, or how poor the drainage system is. If we didn't abuse mother nature, more trees would be there to protect us. If we dispose garbage properly, areas won't be clogged and the possibility of floods would be lessened.

Anyhoo, stay safe everyone!

WAGING WAGI!

Guys, you soooo have to watch Kimmy Dora! SOBRANG LAUGH TRIP KAHIT MAG ISA KA LANG. Pero shempre mas achieve pag madami kayo. But either way, sulit bayad mo!

I totally feared that Kimmy Dora might be taken out of the theaters on Wednesday to give way to the movie In My Life (Ate Vi, Luis M. and JLC). Because of that, I saved this day just to watch it. And can I just say nakakaloka? Super funny movie! I can't even believe it's a low budget film. It was of good quality as in not digital-ish. Then the props are sooo amaaaazeeeng. The details- Hermes Birkin and LV bags, ultra modern house, luxury cars- define low budget again please? (Madami sila nahiraman ng props.) hahaha Her clothes didn't look cheap either.
Kimmy with her Hermes bag in their ultramodern kitchen.
The powerhouse cast was also a treat. Sooobrang daming stars to spot- you'll be amazed. haha
Basta basta, for those who want a good laugh, I go for mag Kimmy Dora kayo! I am betting it's better than GMA's Angelina and Yaya The Movie. But I think I wanna watch it also. Not as much as wanting to watch Kimmy Dora though.

Happy Kimmy Dora day to you! :)

MICHAEL JACKSON

I CANNOT EFFIN BELIEVE I DID NOT STAY UP LATE TO WATCH MICHAEL JACKSON'S MEMORIAL.

I really didn't expect (how stupid, I know) that it's gonna be THIS BIG. Now I have to satisfy myself with excerpts on the news.

AND OMG NAIIYAK AKO SA MGA CLIPS. Grabeeeeeh. I super wanna watch the whooole memorial. I hope someone uploads a torrent of this one.

(edited: 20 seconds after posting this, Chuvaness posted the video of THE WHOLE MEMORIAL. I SOOOO LOVE YOU, CHUVANESS! Check out her site or this link

I remember in grade school, I danced ballet to the tune of Heal the World during our foundation day. Oh san ka pa diba? hahaha Yes, I used to dance ballet. hehe

Michael's death proved to me that we never really see someone's worth until he's gone. I took his existence for granted. But I think it was mainly because I didn't grow up during his super peak years. I mean, when I gained consciousness in this world, he was already filled with controversies so I had no idea how phenomenal he was.

I only found out when he died that the songs I've been singing in my younger years were his original songs. I didn't know Smooth Criminal was his song. I thought it was Red Hot Chili Pepper's original. I thought I'll be there is Mariah's song tapos ka duet si Michael. Baliktad pala. Jackson 5 pala ang original.

There are so many things I didn't and will never know about him. But no matter how crazy the controversies about MJ, I believe that the real Michael is still the good father that Paris and her brothers had and the great singer whose songs will forever live and even surpass this generation.

Rest in peace Michael.

Someday it'll be my turn!

Earlier I was watching the Juday-Ryan special on ABS-CBN. And I'm like...GHAD WHAT DID YOU DO TO DESERVE ALL THESE?

photo from weddingsatwork.com
For the record lang noh? I am not a Juday fan. But I have seen her films, in fairness. She's is a good actress and I really appreciate that. I enjoyed a lot of her movies rin. It's a known fact to close friends that I am a Cinema One advocate and having said that, I think it is my pseudo-responsibility (haha) to know her movies and the quotable quotes of her characters.

Anyway, back to my point. Can I just say??? ANG SWERTE MO JUDAAAAY! Not because she married THE Ryan Agoncillo (but of course that's part of it). But more than that, she found a best friend and partner that will love her more than anything else and any other person in this whole wide world. I mean HOW KILIG IS THAT? As in suuuuper inggit talaga ako. AT TAKE NOTE! NAIIYAK AKO AFTER THE WEDDING SPECIAL. I think it's because I'm so inggit (in a good way). I'm excited to know when it'll happen to me also.

But of course just like what old people advise, let's just enjoy life and things will fall into place at the right place and time. So now I'm like...BUT WHEEEEN?! ahahahaha crazy me. crazy thoughts.

Good job! One day... someday. HAHAHA

*Kawawa naman si Fa. Still sulking over THE Ryan A.
Quoted from Facebook: "Thank you Ryan Agoncillo for implementing our casualan/rockNroll/casualan dream wedding with Juday."

Shobwiz Sighting

Today I had a job interview somewhere. hehehehe secret! Then I went to Trinoma to wait for my brother then we'd go home together. I saw Victor Basa but I was far from him- mga 5 or so meters. He was nice. Three manangs had their photo taken with him and he was happy naman to have his photo taken.

* * *

I saw a lot of good clothes today! I wanted to buy a lot but of course I didn't because one- I might not get the job so I won't get to use the clothes much. Two- sayang pera- baka wala pa akong trabaho tapos gagastos na ako. haha I remember Ace telling me that once he gets his first salary, he'll spend half of it buying clothes for work. I'M EXCITED! I WANNA SHOP FOR WORK CLOTHES ALSO! hahaha I wonder if I'll ever be used to wearing heels. I mean I do wear them but only when there's a need to- like reports, presentations, events, interviews. But 10 hours a day?!?! OMG. I've also observed while waiting that a lot were wearing flats too. So I think I'll be fine. But wait, another OMG...they have a uniform! ghhhaaad.

The good thing with uniform is that you need not worry about what to wear the next day. But it gets boring rin with uniforms. Pero I noticed some were not in uniforms! I wonder what their positions are. And oh, may cute! hahahaha yun ang winner! If I get the job, I'd hope and pray sana he's single and straight. Para fun naman ang work ko diba.

Oh well, I have to stop now before I type in even waaay more random thoughts. Ciao!

Brushing elbows with JC Buendia

JC Buendia designs the gowns of Kris Aquino in The Buzz and Pinoy Bingo Night and also made suits for no less than President Arroyo. These are only two of his many high profile clients.

Yesterday was my cousin Martina's 2nd birthday. It was a Luau-ish swimming party at Casa Verde in Pasig.

While eating starters at the table, two people arrived. A tall lady and a chubby man who was smiling as he greeted familiar faces.

Being the jologs that I am, shempre nakilala ko siya. I whispered to my mom, 'Ma, diba si JC Buendia yan? Yung sa Celebrity duets.' hahaha Well, my mom has so-so memory pag dating sa mga showbiz tidbits so she passed the question to my dad. Dad said 'Mukhang siya nga.' We sorta dropped the subject but deep inside I knew I was right. haha

Now 'JC' went to the buffet table so I told my mom...'O ma, punta ka na dun. Chikahin mo.' Haha malamang my mom declined noh! But she saw this kid approach the buffet table as well so she decided to go coz now this kid separated her from 'JC'. Well, you know how kids are. They pick what they want and go so that's exactly what happened! Now she's left with 'JC' at the buffet. hahaha Okay nothing amazing, they didn't talk. But when my mom  got back to our table she said...'Siya nga. Pinakilala siya kay *(I dunno who)* nung paalis na ng table. Sabi...This is JC.' Ahahahaha bionic ears ni mommy talaga oh.

I had to suppress the urge to have a picture taken. Shempre pareho kaming guest sa party- hello magkalevel. So ayun, di ako nag papicture.

Pero I realized...may ganun kayang job? Like Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada where she studies the profiles of her boss's acquaintances and then she whispers their names to the boss para kunyari the boss remembers them all. haha I'm good at faces and quite good with names- I can do that! haha

On JC Buendia naman...I think he's super nice. We were joking in the car on our way home na baka sa debut ni Martina, siya ang designer. hahaha

Haaay... Sana one day, I'll have the courage to approach the sikat people for a photo. If you know me well, then you'd understand that I share the showbiz bug with some friends like sina Peter, Atei Claire, Fa, RC, etc. Pero grabe I get startstruck or shall i say starstuck talaga. TAMEME. I've been like a foot away from Dennis Trillo, brushed elbows with PPB's Dionne and Bodie, encountered JAKE CUENCA at Eastwood, seen John Lloyd, as in madami pa, I can't recall na. Lahat yan TAMEME talaga ako. Nung UP Fair in fairness I have a photo with Bamboo (as in yung band, hindi lang si Bamboo), Marc Abaya, tapos sa ABAM si Fanny Serrano. haha Achieve!

On the Martin Nievera issue...

I'm sure almost everyone heard about the upheaval of a lot of Filipinos regarding Martin Nievera's own version of Lupang Hinirang during the Pacquiao-Hatton fight in Vegas. Here's my two cents on the issue.

I believe that Martin did violate the Republic Act No. 8491 or the Flag Law. Section 37 of the law states: "The rendition of the National Anthem, whether played or sung, shall be in accordance with the musical arrangement and composition of Julian Felipe."* I know we all have our own versions of different songs but hello, this is THE National Anthem.

I remember Martin's interview saying '...people have been saying... I've violated a law that no one's even ever heard of' or something to that effect. To echo a proverb, Ignorance of law is no excuse for breaking it. I think he should have AT THE VERY LEAST apologized for 'overlooking' that detail. The fact that Maestro Ryan Cayabyab actually warned him not to rearrange the National Anthem also adds to my disgust. ALAM MO NA, ITUTULOY MO PA. You don't have to be intelligent to realize your mistake.

He also said in the same interview (paraphrased version) 'I don't have to apologize for anything... Enough people loved it (the singing)..." These people probably loved it because they didn't know the law as well. In other words, may pagkukulang rin sila. Sila pa ba yung paniniwalaan mo? The people who criticized Martin's rendition are those who are in the proper position to do so. And yet he settles by saying that enough people loved it? I can't believe this guy.

Isang kabastusan ang ginawa ni Martin. His 'popularity' in the music industry is not an excuse to overrule any law in the land. His arrogance is so irritating and insulting. I hope he realizes this mistake and apologize not simply to appease the people but for the sincere regret of his actions.

* RA 8491 description lifted from ivanhenares.com

p.s. I have nothing personal against Martin Nievera. He is a good singer and I respect that. I actually like a lot of his songs. This is more of what he did rather than who he is.

Kaleidoscope World

It's not how long you live but how well you live your life.

I am not a big fan of rap music but I really look up to Francis Magalona as an artist (I like Mga Kababayan ko and Kaleidoscope world) and as a photographer. He's been an amazing family man (I've visited his multiply site a few times before his death) and he'd always showcase the works and accomplishment of his kids. Super nakaka awwww. And as an avid watcher of Filipino movies, I've seen him start in Bagets 2 and all the movies where he'd play sidekick roles to Vic Sotto.

Francis M. deserves all the love and prayers.

He is one shouting proud Pinoy who has truly inspired this generation of Filipinos. His music will transcend and will continue to fuel nationalism through the years.

FRANCIS M., you will be missed.

It's a kaleidoscope world and we live in it.
