Cluttered thoughts

1. Was so happy this morning when I saw on my email that my crush prof requested to follow me on twitter. Yiiiie! Shempre kahit engaged na yun, kinikilig pa rin ako noh. He was, after all, one of my biggest crushes.

2. Dad left for Davao this morning. I was supposed to drive him up to the gate of the village because landlines weren't restored yet so we can't call the guardhouse to send a cab. But last night before I slept, the landline was already fixed. He told me to feed his pet birds. haha They're not actually pets. They just visit our garden every day because dad scatters old rice or bread for them to feed on. The birds use to fly away whenever we'd be at the garden. Now they eat happily even if dad sits around watching them the whole morning.

I hope that one day I can find pleasure in little things just like my dad. But I'm sure that'll come in the far future. I'm young, I still have a lot of plans and dreams, I haven't accomplished any of them yet. So the bird watching thingy won't be happening anytime soon. Probably only when I have to feed them every morning (which btw takes only like 2 minutes).

3. Speaking of dads... I saw this video on Facebook and found a copy on Youtube. Seriously, if you love your parents, you have to watch this! I totally cried.

I'm not like that to my parents but it serves as a good reminder for us to love them unconditionally as much as they love us. And the crying part? I couldn't help it! Dad just left this morning remember? And he was here for like a month.

4. I miss my mom a lot too. Especially right now I'm having fever chills as side effect of my tooth operation. You know what they say, iba talaga ang mother's touch.

5. Keep praying for the people affected by the flood. I wanna volunteer but my on-off fever won't allow me to. I donated to Red Cross nalang. Another typhoon is coming and let's all pray that it won't affect us as bad as Ondoy did.

Stay safe everyone!

UPDATE!

My tooth operation pushed through in the afternoon. I AM SOOO DEPENDENT ON PAINKILLERS. Not because it's painful but because I don't wait to reach the point where I'd feel the pain. hihi

I wanna volunteer for the relief operations but I can't because of my operation. I shouldn't be doing strenuous stuff for a few days because my stitches might bleed. Imagine a bleeding mouth while doing relief operations diba? hahaha

I also need to save up na for a new phone. I wanted to use the iphone that dad gave me last year. It's been just an itouch to me since that time because I can't seem to adjust to the querty touch screen and the chat type SMS. I would have wanted it converted but they said it'll erase all the files in it. hohum. I'm thinking I'll use it nalang when my current cheap (free!) Ericsson phone retires for good and then get a new phone when I have enough funds for it.

Lots of plans for Christmas! Lots of plans, lack of funds that is. HAHAHA But before Christmas, sembreak muna! Mau, Carms, Ana, Kara and I are planning a Baguio trip for THEIR sembreak. I hope it pushes through. I haven't been to Baguio in 12 years (i think). It changed a lot na, that I'm sure. But still.

And finally, I am so effin excited for Monday! Because Monday is TELESERYE day. Hahaha I'm baduy like that. haha And to my loves Nica and Elai, here's our favorite scene of the moment. Happy kilig-ing! :D

CRAZY SATURDAY!

I hope all my friends are safe. It was flooding everywhere yesterday. I texted some friends to check if they're okay. Emm was quick to reply that they're okay. I'm worried about Fa, Sherry and Claude. They live in Greenpark, Katipunan and LGV respectively- all reported to be flooded.

I am very thankful that my dad and I are safe. Sarah and Julian are safe in San Mateo and my brother is safe at the apartment in Pasay.

Anyhoo, here are a few pictures I found on Facebook. Grabeh.
Marikina River Banks. The Marikina river extends to LGV.

Mercedes in LGV- ouch! (bili ka nalang bago. hehe)

Still in LGV.
Punky said there was MAJOR bayanihan in the village (her best friend Nowie lives there). Artistas helped rescue neighbors. Even Nowie's house became an evacuation center. I haven't heard from Claude yet. But I hope they're okay. Last thing I heard from her- even neighbors with Porsche cars are evacuating. (eeek!)

Araneta Avenue

That's Cristine Reyes on their roof. Btw she was rescued by Richard Gutierrez daw at around 2-ish AM. I heard from RuffaG on twitter. :)
Katipunan Ave.

Park 9, Katipunan

Exelsior (I dunno where this is exactly)

Grabe talaga. Super kawawa yung mga tao.

I hope by the end of the day, everyone is in a safe place already.

My dental operation has been cancelled for the nth time. This time it's because of the flood. The clinic is in Philcoa and last night it was flooding there so my dad decided not to push through today. I can't contact the clinic though. No landline. Cellphone networks are busy. I'm sure doc figured out the situation anyway. haha

Oh, one more thing. I think the lesson learned here would be we really have to care for the earth more. I agree with the weather officials that this is an effect of climate change- stronger rains, hotter days. This is not about how inefficient the rescue teams are, or how poor the drainage system is. If we didn't abuse mother nature, more trees would be there to protect us. If we dispose garbage properly, areas won't be clogged and the possibility of floods would be lessened.

Anyhoo, stay safe everyone!

Travel Planner

I got a new toy today. I call it my travel planner.
* *
My dad and I went to my dentist today to schedule my wisdom tooth extraction (ouch!). The clinic is near UP so he decided we eat lunch at the shopping center (SC). We ate tapsilog and crispy tawilis at Rodic's. GHAD I SUPER MISSED RODIC'S. Exage talaga, totally love Rodic's! Then dad went for a haircut at the University Barber in front of YZA in SC. He's so old school, he likes it there. In fairness naman, where would he get a haircut in SM or Trinoma...sa Bench Fix? HAHA At his age, kamusta naman diba?

On our way to the car, I met an acquaintance who happens to be my happy crush before. Haha I immediately texted Fa to report. HAHA LOOONG STORY. But I just feel the need to mention it here. :)) Anyway, dad and I went to Berkeley Square to do some grocery shopping in preparation for my tooth operation. I got loads of Arce Dairy ice cream. Doc says that's the only thing I can eat while healing my operation. Before we went to the grocery though, dad and I went to this weird book store- weird in a good way. They sell what dad calls 'strange finds'. It's pretty kitschy- like little nail polish bottles for P10 each, or booklets on Chinese fables, or letter stencils that are 'so passe' and you'll probably not find in National Bookstore. Dad ended up buying 3 feng shui books, a Philippine map that he needs for work, and the stencils. I got 3 bottles of the cheap nail polish (which turned out to be unpretty as I have short nails) and of course, my travel planner.

Here it is!

This is acutally a Philippine map puzzle. With this, I'm leaving my destinations to destiny. How? Oh, I'll take down the pieces, divide it as Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Then randomly pick a puzzle piece and visit the province I end up getting. Nice noh? I like the idea of randomly picking the destination. I find it exciting! haha

I just found out I won't be coming with the whole company to Davao because of my tooth operation. That's okay with me because when they leave, I don't have work also. I'll need the days for 'me time'.

I hope it was a great long weekend for everyone! :)

Love is everywhere!

Including your feet!

HOW CUTE ARE THESE?

Dahil malapit na ang Pasko...

Ilalagay ko ang wish list ko. hahaha

Pero bago yun...CONGRATULATIONS AJA! ABAM-JFA-AdCore for winning this year's orgpres AGAIN! EXAGE NAPAKAGALING!!!

Okay, back to my wish list... hehe I always have a wish list but I have never 'completed' any of the lists I made. But it's all good. It serves as a motivation for me to save up and buy the things that I didn't receive as gifts. hehe

Now my wish list has two parts, as always. Material and Non-material. haha Write your own too! I'm looking forward to reading them hehe :D

1. REEBOK EASY TONE FLIP FLOPS
I guess I'm tired of Havaianas already. Everyone I know has at least one pair. In three years, I've had 7 pairs and only 2 are left. The rest have been damaged beyond repair. HAHA! The Reebok easy tone flip flops has a special feature. It tones your legs 11% and glutes 28% more while you do your normal walk and even when you're standing. Great to wear to the mall diba?Para ka na rin nag gym. haha

2. Birkenstock Gizeh in Golden Brown
My dad and I were in Trinoma last week and to my surprise, he entered Birkenstock because he said he needed a new pair of sandals. I asked if the sandals are for the Palawan trip in October. He said...Hindi, pangbahay. GRABE LANG, NAHIMATAY AKO. HAHAHA He found what he wanted but didn't buy it yet. YEHEY! Makikisabay ako pag bibilhin na niya. Hahaha

3. New Lens for my Nikon D60.
(The SLR btw, was on my 2008 wish list. Yun lang yung nagkatotoo but it took like 6 months before I had it. haha) I dunno why I want this. I just feel like it's the next step when you have a camera. But it's fine if I don't get this. I'm happy with my 18-55mm lens.

4. Sebago Rally Moccasins
Recently I'm liking loafers A LOT. It started when Dad got me my Hush Puppies Bayside loafers last April. Now I've been searching for more amazing pairs of loafers- I now have 3 but nothing compares to my Bayside pair. I have one from Charles&Keith and another from ShoeBox. Wala, failed sa standards ko. With my HP Bayside , I can walk for hours and not have aching legs and blisters on my feet. The two other pairs- well, one cramped my feet and then one gave me 'pinched' skin after a 4 hours of wearing it. But I still wear them. Sayang naman eh. Ho hum, there really is a price to pay for comfort. haha

5. Vacation with my family. It's been a loooong time since we traveled for vacation as a complete family. The last Bicol vacation, my kuya was left here in Manila because he had school (boohoo trimester). Now there's Julian and Sarah also. :) (I don't care if it's a local destination or out of the country. I just want to spend 'stress free' time with them.)

That's it for my material wish list. Lots of footwear no? That's because shoes are my original loves. And also because I'll be doing a lot of 'moving around' soon so I need nice footwear. I actually have a lot more in mind for my material wish list. We can't have enough gifts right? haha Like...I want a wii, a classic Chanel 2.55, a ring I'll purchase with my own money- but then again I have to be realistic and practical. Can't afford Chanel yet. Will save up for my ring. And the Wii will be useless here at home. hehe

Now for my non-material wish list...
1. Constant communication with my college friends.
2. That I will be able to handle the responsibilities that will be given to me next year so that my boss will be proud of me. haha
3. That I will find what I've always been looking for.
4. That more Filipinos will love the Philippines.
5. And because of that love, I wish that Filipinos will be wise in their decisions so that the 2010 Elections will be clean, honest and promising.

There goes my 2009 wish list. I had fun 'limiting' it to 5 per category. haha

Happy wish-listing! Mwah!

CRAZY!

This morning I woke up from a crazy dream. As in crazy in a morbid and weird way. I can't give the exact details because I can't really remember the whole story. It's also crazy because it involves a crazy cast- as in a showbiz love team and some of my elementary, high school and college friends. I won't drop the names but the dream goes something like...

There was a huge crowd and then nagkagulo (pretty much like when dementors attacked Hogwarts haha), then a lot of people were found hanging dead *ooops, told you it's morbid*. I was with the showbiz guy, we trailed the lane of the hanging corpses and we found the showbiz girl among the corpses. *EEEEK!* Eto nakakatawa, I was the one crying because the showbiz girl was gone and the guy was the one who comforted me. As in mega iyak. This is weird because this love team used to be a couple in real life. Anyhooo, so the dream transitioned to a beautiful old church whose garden had Christmas lights (so I guess it was Christmas in the dream hehe)...And then there I saw my elementary and high school friends. It was just a hi-hello moment and then I found myself in the company of my college friends. I remember our house in Iloilo being a part the dream. But it looked different- more white walls and white lights, very modern interiors. Although I was sure that was our house. haha

See? Crazy diba? I don't want another crazy dream tonight. I like dreams though! hehe So I wish tonight it'll be a kilig one, or a funny one. Basta wag morbid! haha

Have a great sleep everyone! :)

WAGING WAGI!

Guys, you soooo have to watch Kimmy Dora! SOBRANG LAUGH TRIP KAHIT MAG ISA KA LANG. Pero shempre mas achieve pag madami kayo. But either way, sulit bayad mo!

I totally feared that Kimmy Dora might be taken out of the theaters on Wednesday to give way to the movie In My Life (Ate Vi, Luis M. and JLC). Because of that, I saved this day just to watch it. And can I just say nakakaloka? Super funny movie! I can't even believe it's a low budget film. It was of good quality as in not digital-ish. Then the props are sooo amaaaazeeeng. The details- Hermes Birkin and LV bags, ultra modern house, luxury cars- define low budget again please? (Madami sila nahiraman ng props.) hahaha Her clothes didn't look cheap either.
Kimmy with her Hermes bag in their ultramodern kitchen.
The powerhouse cast was also a treat. Sooobrang daming stars to spot- you'll be amazed. haha
Basta basta, for those who want a good laugh, I go for mag Kimmy Dora kayo! I am betting it's better than GMA's Angelina and Yaya The Movie. But I think I wanna watch it also. Not as much as wanting to watch Kimmy Dora though.

Happy Kimmy Dora day to you! :)

HAPPY!

I'm very pleased with the results of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2009! But before I drop my two cents on this topic I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to ABS-CBN's TFC-Now for the FREE live stream of the competition! I LOVE YOU, ABS-CBN!

Back to the results... Like the whole UP population, I really believe UP Pep did an awesome job! But every year, just like us, the other schools also try their best to improve. The Ateneo BBB and FEU Tams can attest to that. I liked both and I really think they deserved to win.

I've been reading the forum about the result of the competition. I really appreciate the people who liked UP's routine. I am very flattered to be from UP and you guys are so sweet. I also find the thank you's from the other schools very sweet. There were people from FEU who thanked UP for rooting for them. Also from Ateneo. Don't worry guys. We UP people cheer for those who deserve it. Lastly, I really appreciate those from UST who try to appease and calm their fellow schoolmates who keep posting rude comments on the forum. At least we know there are still level-headed people in UST. Lahat naman ng schools may black sheeps na talagang mag t-trash talk sa mga forums na yan. Even from our school, meron. But I personally support the healthy competition that UAAP aims to foster. Let's not stoop down to the level of black sheeps- regardless of which school they're from.

Let's not hate some schools too much ok? I know sometimes we have to fight back for the love of the school. Pero hanggang kaya pa, let's keep it classy.

Congratulations everyone! I love UP! Great job FEU and Ateneo!

Here's the UP Pep's performance. :) Enjoy!

Binge!

I went on a book binge today at National Bookstore.

My mom told me they were on sale so I decided to grab a few books on my reading list. I was planning to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows because I don't remember reading it. Unfortunately they didn't have it in paperback and the hard bound version wasn't on sale. I decided to get more Coelho books. I have just finished reading Like a Flowing River (haha took me a looong time because I was too tamad).  I love it! I have so many quotable quotes from this book which I shall do in a separate post.

Anyhoo, I got Brida, The Alchemist (again. Because I think I lost our first copy) and The Valkyries. I was gonna buy only one but decided to get more since I'll buy them in the future anyway. They're at 20% off btw!
I also got this unpopular book The Year of Yes by Maria Headley. I talks about a woman who decided to date every single man who asks her out. I'm excited to read it! hahaha This was an impulse buy because it looked interesting and it's 50% off! Exage. haha

Another impulse buy is the Swatch book! Next to shoes and bags, watches are on my list. So it's no surprise that I couldn't let go of the book. Well, I was gonna let go of it until I saw my first ever Swatch watch included! I'm sooo excited to see which other Swatch watches of mine made it here. YAY! I dunno how much of a bargain I made here (based on the original selling price) but on Amazon it costs $16. I got it for 169 peyzos.

My last impulse buy was an issue of Ish magazine. It's an art and lifestyle magazine. I had three of this before but I lent it to someone. I've graduated and all and he hasn't return it yet. I need to hunt him down now because I just learned Ish has decided to stop publishing after a decade of existence. So in effect, it's collector's item-ish na. HELLO ROY, PLEASE SHOW UP AND RETURN MY MAG. OR EMAIL ME AND ASSURE ME THEY'RE STILL IN GOOD CONDITION.

Anyhoo, there's my stock for the next few weeks. Gotta read read read to keep the brain active. Keep reading everyone! :) (As in reading books, not facebook updates. hahahahaha)

"Happy crushes can break your heart too."

Well, what can I say? haha All good things must come to and end right?

TRUE THAT!

I got a message from Oskie today.

"Don't choose a candy if you won't buy it anyway.

In other words, don't be too sweet if you don't have a plan to love the person.

In Tagalog, wag mo siyang landiin pag di mo naman siya balak mahalin."

Hahahaha this should have been sent to me waaay earlier. But it's all good. Just brings back funny memories.
