Awesome movie alert!

Have you guys seen the movie 3 Idiots? If not, please do yourself a favor and watch it.

I highly recommend it if
1) soul searching ang drama mo,
2) feeling mo may Quarter life crisis ka,
3) may gusto kang gawin pero lagi kang takot sumugal,
4) kung marami kang oras at wala kang magawa.
5) Lahat na yan, at marami pang iba.

Kidding aside, you seriously have to watch this movie. Don't worry if it's 2.5 hours long. You won't even notice it. It's smart, well written and easy to relate to real life so go go, download!

The irony in life

Just a few days ago I blogged about getting a Goyard and Mulberry for myself. Today someone contacted me about an inquiry I made weeks ago. It was for a Prada bag at 35k. She said it's still available in case I'm interested. Grabe thoughts were racing in my mind. Kakalurks! I even went as far as asking if she offered installment terms. But after much thinking, I decided not to buy the bag. It's pretty, yes. But it reminds me of Kimi Go Donghae's famous scene with her intern (on video at 4:50).

And because I somehow channel Kimy Godonghae in real life (hahaha), I said no. And I thought how the hell am I gonna purchase an 85k bag if I can't even let go of 35k? hahaha Naaliw naman ako sa problema ko. Walang kwenta. hahaha

Life's a movie

Well, almost. I find that there's always a little truth in movies.

Right now one of my favorite Sharon movies is on Cinema One- Kung Ako Nalang Sana. I hate to admit it but I kinda feel like I'm a little of Emmy (Sharon). Aside from our size (haha), I really see myself as Emmy some ten years from now. The girl who looks after everyone- family and friends. I hope to be as rich as her character too!

Kulang lang sa akin- guy best friend who, when I reach 40 and single, will be willing to marry me. hahahahahaha Shempre naman I wanna be married before I reach 30 noh. Okay fine 32. May allowance para sure.

Speaking of guy best friend...I guess I really don't have one. I have guy friends but my closest friends are girls. I mean, no one can understand girls like their girlfriends do. The closest I had to a guy best friend was back in high school. Until he fell in love with my friend. hahahaha Until now, sila pa rin so I guess it's meant to be. But it doesn't matter. I love my girl and gay friends! I'm sure one day we'll meet our prince charming through them or maybe we'll meet THE ONE when we're out with our friends. They'll be there when some casanova breaks your heart. Their tears will flow when you make your vows and some of them will be among the hopefuls to catch the bouquet.

Whatever it is, girlfriends will stick with you through thick and thin.

Oh well, I'm just 21. I shouldn't panic yet.

Or okay, I should not panic too much yet.

I feel for you

Was sulking today coz while everyone's scheduled to watch Eclipse, I was stuck at home watching PNoy's inauguration and doing my laundry. That was until I got a text from Farrah. Her boss, whose husband is the brand manager of C2 gave her two premiere tickets for the 9 pm screening at Shang. NALOKA AKO. SHEMPRE YES!!! Before you fear finding spoilers here, let me assure you that there's none. No quotable quotes and 'scene' descriptions. But let me say it was famazing! As in effin amazing! To hell with the Twilight haters but this movie is totally leaps better than the first one. The soundtrack's good too!

In the middle of the movie Farrah and I kept rooting for our boyfriends. Fa for Edward, me for Jacob. I guess I know how it feels to not be loved in return. Or be loved but in a different way. Farrah was totally into the messy and rough look of Edward. For the record, I don't like the rockstar look- messy hair, drugged eyes, hoarse voice so it was easy for me to like Jacob. His hair's always neat, he's got abs flashing like stoplights for your heart, and he's got this mega martyr heart you'd fall in love with. Edward is martyr, yes. But I'm just not into the whole disheveled look.

And oh, I couldn't help but associate some characters to local showbiz personalities. Please watch out for Victor Wood and Alfie Lorenzo. HAHAHAHA I couldn't breathe as I tried to suppress my laugh when I pointed out Alfie Lorenzo. I SWEAR, I TRIED BUT I LET OUT A SQUEAK. That moment was HILARIOUS!

Like I mentioned in my tweet, tonight I felt like a student again. Like the good old days when Fa and I would catch the last full show of a movie on a school night. When we'd stay late to catch up about life (this part not so much coz we were pressed for time), and then we'd see familiar people at the mall. I remember thinking the people who declare they miss college are just OA. Now I find myself one of them. It's different when all you care about is to be with your friends and pass you classes. When you're done with school, being with friends become a tad more difficult. We all have crazy schedules, our own plans every weekend, or some are too tired they just wanna sleep all weekend. If you're lucky, you'd get to enjoy the company of those who aren't too eager to get a job yet. I did- watched Showtime at the studio with some friends, spent three hours doing karaoke with them. I LOVE IT!

Okay...this is pretty much a sabog post. But that's how I am when I tell a story. :))

Find love

Title inspired by DR's top 7 blog post. And just like her, it's also in my (sort-of-urgent) to-do list. HAHAHA Okay forget what I said.

Just recently a college orgmate labeled me as a love doctor. Then a few minutes ago I just read a post of a friend relaying her experience of a fail getaway with her boyfriend that resulted in her walk out. I found myself advising her to just drop it coz it's not worth it.

This isn't the first time. Many times I talk to friends about their love life (or the lack of it haha) and we end up deciphering every detail of their dilemma. I'm not calling myself an expert. I'M FAR FROM BEING ONE. Everything I tell my friends, I learned from the movies. HAHAHAHA Not purely form the movies. Of course the stuff I read, teleseryes I watch, the experiences my friends had, my own set of principles, and of course, logic.

I am close to doing a word-vomit here. I guess what I'm saying is...'Ako na ang love doctor, ako pa ang single.' Couldn't state it in English because it wouldn't encompass what I really want to say. It's funny. I laugh at the thought of not having 'someone' right now. My friends and I laugh and joke about it a lot. But I firmly believe all of us are destined to be with someone who's worth the wait. And that keeps me going and hoping every waking day.

Look at Judy Ann Santos. If you are within my age bracket, you'd agree when I say I never thought she'd end up with someone like Ryan Agoncillo. DIBA DIBA DIBA? See how life has it's way of leading you to the one? I watched their wedding special and I cannot help but be kilig that someone as sosh and refined as Ryan will fall in love with the masang-masa Juday. Simply put- Juday is an inspiration! That one day we will all find our own Ryan's. That someone will be able to accept us and our crazy antics. Lalu na ako. I'm a very masa person. I watch Tagalog films, Cinema One is my default cable channel, and I love Sharon Cuneta. That's pretty much balanced naman. I watch Hollywood films too! (haha biglang bumawi eh.) I know brands people haven't heard of, I'm updated with couture, I travel. (Okay pabida na, stopeeeet.) And I know there's a guy (or guys? HAHAHA) who appreciate these things. And who is this guy? Someone who's a great friend like Ned (to Budjuy), a dream guy like Anton, and as breathtaking as Miggy Montenegro.

Told you I learned from the movies!

P.S.
(uuuy iniisip kung anong movies...)

A bag and a lesson from Up (the movie, not our school)

Today I stumbled on a photo of a beautiful luggage.

I knew I had to check this out. To my surprise it's a Samsonite collection designed by no other than THE (late) Alexander McQueen! I love his works. Ever since I've been exposed to designer labels (exposed doesn't mean I have them hahaha coz really, I don't) I've been following McQueen's works. One day news and tweets flooded saying he took his life. (Read more of that here.)

This is like hitting two birds with one stone because I also looove Samsonite. My family loves Samsonite. I've had my Samsonite backpack since 2002 and it's still very much usable til now. It was my bag during our recent beach trip to Zambales. Although the waterproof lining is now tattered (brother overused and abused the bag for almost two years) it's still pretty tough. Love it to bits! My dad and Joop have Samsonite bags too. Mom doesn't coz she doesn't need one while Jom doesn't coz he's a Jansport guy back in high school.

Anyway back to my story haha, I practically spent the whole day looking for the best deals. Scoured ebay and all other luggage sites. It's pretty hard to find pala because this is an old collection- released in 2007 I believe. I showed it to my mom just to get a second opinion whether I should get it or not. I was expecting her to say no but ohemgee she liked it! She didn't even stop me from considering purchasing the bag. A little later I found a seller located in the Philippines. This time it's the luggage bag that I want - the duffel in the photo above. (The one earlier was the same collection, different bag.) It's 20 effin thousand. I DIED. I showed it to my mom and she laughed at me! hahahaha Because I would need a little less than two months worth of salary to pay for it. My dad just looked but he didn't give me the look that spelled NO. So now I'm kinda contemplating on which bag I'll pick. Bag A- smaller case (half the price, half the size) or Bag B (hand carry-ish for travels) - 20k.

Now this bag brings me to the lesson from the cartoon Up. Remember Ellie (the wife of the old man) was saving up to travel to the falls? And she ended up not being able to go because they always use up their savings due to a lot of reasons. I feel like it's the same here. I've been listing the major expenses I'll incur this year and early next year. That includes my trip to Singapore (I am sooo not shopping there. Just a few packs of Famous Amos), a Rimowa or Samsonite ultra light trolley, and a camera that I promised to get for my brother if he graduates with good grades (because he wants to be a photographer). And just now I remembered it's Mom's birthday next weekend. Gotta grab a gift- I'm thinking of an eye serum for her. Been planning for the future and then a lot of stuff happens now.

So really, my money isn't anywhere near the amount of these things. But when you find one thing that makes your heart skip a beat, you don't just let it go right?

hahaha excuses, excuses! I know.

This is Bag A. I'm thinking if I should get it in black instead. I really find white awesome.

OH WELL. Love it. I'm hoping my aunts and uncles from the States send me dollars next month. It's my birthday anyway. hihi ;)

Like any 'sane' shoppingera, I shall sleep on it and see how I feel about the bag when I wake up. HAHAHA I think I can tell. Bayeeee!

Bahay kubo...not.

Found out today that the Cullen house in Twilight is different from the Cullen house in in New Moon.

TWILIGHT
This is the Hoke House

NEW MOON
The vampires' living room.

Wala lang. I find myself missing Jacob Black this past few days.

I JUST DIED AND WENT TO ABS HEAVEN :)

I love Edward but I'm for TEAM JACOB!

I can't wait for Eclipse!

* * *

The line at Eastwood cinemas was like a line for relief goods! But the movie was sooo totally worth it! Everyone was squealing in the cinema, especially the young girls. There were two occasions when a single voice stood out to react. As in she said "AWWWW" alone! The whole cinema laughed at her, whoever she is. hahaha Really really funny!

THIS IS REALLY IT!

Today the much awaited movie, Michael Jackson: THIS IS IT was released in the theaters of 99 countries all over the world.

Of course I tried to squeeze in time to watch it before I leave for Bicol even if I was alone. I'm used to watching movies alone anyway. hehe So I was there at the mall around 12:20 pm. Just enough time to grab a ticket. The movie starts at 12:45.

What's new though was the SUPER STRICT guards waiting there with the theater attendants. When I entered the theater, the attendant took my ticket, and the two guards scoured my bag (including the zipped pockets inside!) for cameras, PSPs and whatever gadget that can be used to record or take photos of the film. Well I didn't really mind coz they were very nice. And the MJ film will only be released for two weeks (with no assurance if they will release an original DVD). So the temptation of producing pirated copies is really really strong.

Inside, only the upper seats (deluxe) were allowed to be occupied. When the movie started, there were people squealing in excitement to a point that it was irritating. A lady even said "QUIET PLEASE" aloud because really, it's not like the theater is theirs.

As we watched the movie, three more guards entered the theater and stood in the aisles. From time to time they'd walk through the aisles to check if anyone's recording anything. Really strict haha

Anyhooo, about the film. No, I won't post spoilers because there isn't any story to spoil really. I was pretty emotional to a point that I really really blamed MJ's physician. (Coz diba his death was diagnosed as an overdose.) If that concert happened, it would have been the greatest concert evaaaar.

Intrigues aside, MJ is a great great artist. I don't think anyone can surpass his contributions to the music industry. And he is soooo full of love. He spreads love through his music and his dance. The very same thing he tells his dancers and the people he works with. Spread the love, he says.

The best take away line for me was EVERYDAY, MAKE HISTORY.
I know he did.

WAGING WAGI!

Guys, you soooo have to watch Kimmy Dora! SOBRANG LAUGH TRIP KAHIT MAG ISA KA LANG. Pero shempre mas achieve pag madami kayo. But either way, sulit bayad mo!

I totally feared that Kimmy Dora might be taken out of the theaters on Wednesday to give way to the movie In My Life (Ate Vi, Luis M. and JLC). Because of that, I saved this day just to watch it. And can I just say nakakaloka? Super funny movie! I can't even believe it's a low budget film. It was of good quality as in not digital-ish. Then the props are sooo amaaaazeeeng. The details- Hermes Birkin and LV bags, ultra modern house, luxury cars- define low budget again please? (Madami sila nahiraman ng props.) hahaha Her clothes didn't look cheap either.
Kimmy with her Hermes bag in their ultramodern kitchen.
The powerhouse cast was also a treat. Sooobrang daming stars to spot- you'll be amazed. haha
Basta basta, for those who want a good laugh, I go for mag Kimmy Dora kayo! I am betting it's better than GMA's Angelina and Yaya The Movie. But I think I wanna watch it also. Not as much as wanting to watch Kimmy Dora though.

Happy Kimmy Dora day to you! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARENG FA!!!

YAY DAY TODAY!

What's so great about a Thursday? Well, if your day starts at 6:30 in the morning, to get ready for your 8:30 class (that includes coffee time, bath time, dress-up and commute), and the day ends at 7 pm, there's nothing really to be happy about.

BUT NOT TODAY.

Every Thursday, when I hear my phone alarm bugging me, I hold this mental 'pep talk' saying OKAY, KEEP IN MIND, IT'S 178 DAY TODAY. GET UP. So there, I make it on time always. I have a long break too! 11:30- 2:30 to be exact. I usually spend it at the tambayan, attending meetings or just catching up with the ABAMers. My next class, project management, is suuuper boring I really just want to sleep. It's too structured for someone like me. I usually am very flexible when it comes to facilitating projects. Lastly, my 4-7 class kills the energy in me. It's very interesting and insightful. It's just that, by that time, I am already drained for the day.

So today, i said it was different. For one, 178 was fun(ny!) Two, FA and I got together again after her sabbatical for PANA. We watched Twilight. haha! And three, special treat!!! After the movie, we walked by Jake Cuenca! HOMAYGHADDD. He saw me freeze upon seeing him. Hahaha I bet he laughed at me. Ask FA how I looked like. Shet talaga I died for 10 seconds. hahaha Fourth, I decided to use my BDJ coupon at Coffee Bean. It's the buy a frappe and get another for free. Shempre Fa got the free one. Turns out, I didn't pay at all. Shet winner! It's either she forgot, or she didn't understand the coupon right. haha

As Fa and I enjoyed our Caramel blended ice al fresco style, lo and behold Jake passed again! He passed, and passed and passed until this lucky gutsy manong 'small talked' him. Jake said 'uy! kumuha lang ako ng shades ko.' Feeling ko chummy talaga sila and then nagkita sila and hi hello. Si manong parang tagalinis ata somewhere, coz he was carrying a mop and a plastic container which scooped the mop strands. Ang cool talaga, in fairness kay Jake, ma chummy regardless of who they are. I even joked to Fa "mare, pag si John Lloyd yan, I apologize in advance pero iiwanan kita dito sa lamesa. hahaha" And she goes, "ok lang, naiintindihan ko. Kasi ako makikitakbo rin." HAHAHAHA

I missed our Eastwood days! We even did out traditional 'tearing of the movie ticket' hahaha!

I' I wish Wonder Girls and Gay can go out soon! Comedy bar tayo! at yung spooftacular showdown! And I'm just super happy that this was our first real bonding gimik after her sabbatical moment. I'm glad it's such a winning moment- all of it. Love freebies- caramel blended ice, and a cutie pie? YAY TO THAT!

A Very Special Love

OMG Ditch being conio and watch the movie. I watched it with Fa, Weng, Raisia, and Vicki at Eastwood. TODO TAWA KUNG TAWA TALAGA. And of course, TODO KILIG.

I firmly believe you BA people who are affected by the current issues must watch the movie. You'll see. HAHAHA

Forgive me but ONLY John Lloyd can make me watch a Pinoy movie willingly. HAHAHA

Okay enough of the movie. I won't post spoilers. Go watch it and lemme know watchatink!

Today's Snippets

Today, we celebrate the centennial year of UP. Yes, We are celebrating it specifically on this date. Because of that, I had to walk from CHE to BA since the oval was closed for Joseph (Gutierrez)'s Vinzons UPgrade Launch. I am so proud of Joseph for this project. YEY! The big celebration was at CCP this evening, however, tickets are limited (but free!) so my friends and I decided to hang out in BA. It was a tiring but fun afternoon. Chatting with everyone- even Ms. Chin. Wooopeeedeee!

After lunch, Dianne and I walked to Econ to buy Cerealicious for dessert. We were joking about this "I'M GOOD!" greeting to Sir Raya and were laughing really loud when we chanced upon Sir Raya at the sidewalk. He said "I love it when you laugh. It made (makes) my day." Awwww, I must admit natouch kami talaga. It feels really good when people appreciate the little things about you- like our laughs. (Shout out to Jen who said ang sarap ko tumawa.) haha

In the afternoon, sometime after doing a little SWOT on Head and Shoulders, Fa and I decided to watch Made of Honor (yey to the pinky promise!). I texted Raisia to join us and surprise surprise! She said yes! First time ni Raish mag movie sa Eastwood so yey! Next time guys, tickets from Caloi na toh, weeee!

So there, just a little space on my blog to remind me, and prove to my future kids and grandkids that I lived to see the centennial year of UP. hahahaha

And oh, Fa! I will always laugh when I remember our joke about the libraries of our kids.

Cheers to UP! Cheers to great people!

* * *
LSS- Bleeding Love. Dianne and I walked by this stall of pirated cds near CHE when this gay vendor belted out 'keep bleeding, i keep keep bleeding...". We ended up singing it the whole day and even Punky acquired it. hahaha

Killer Sem

This semester, I have every intention (with real reasons, mind you!) of being unreachable because I am
A. preoccupied in revamping Head and Shoulders so that Clear will crumble into pieces. (with my fabulous group in Brand Management)
B. developing an exclusive salon for metrosexuals (with the girls and Aldren)
C. busy stalking and begging a CEO to come to school for a talk and/or give me an interview for 190.
D. mining data for our feasibility study.
E. studying the ever changing global market
F. doing org work.
G. All of the above.

I still need a little more time to get used to the Tuesday-Friday school week. Right now, I just feel exhausted after every day. It is now a mortal sin to not be busy with any school related activity. And so, I plan to

A. Start on our final paper for 190 with Fa and Dianne. I hope we get to finish this before August ends. Homayghad.
B. Carry all my notes with me everyday so that if I get stranded in school because of the rain, or if need to kill time for an important meeting I could make use of my free time reading, rewriting, and conceptualizing stuff. (MY LATEST PURCHASE: A multi-section plastic folder that can segregate my notes per subject. Plus, it's light and waterproof! Perfect!)
C. Religiously read my new books in consumer behavior and Global Maketing.
D. Continue to pray to God that he will not let me lose my focus. Not this time.
E. Make time for relaxation, hopefully twice a month. Like a massage or movie (ehemcaloiehem), or a simple dinner with friends.

Because this week was a hell lot of stress, Little Miss Panda FA and I went to Eastwood to catch the last full show of Kung Fu Panda. (Too bad Ckeska couldn't come!) Before we hit the movie, we strolled and hopped from store to store in Eastwood since they were holding a super sale! Yay! While store hopping, she decided to be Farrah Jessica Parker for sometime and partially thought of wearing her long pearls with pajamas too. hahaha

In the movie house, Fa and I enjoyed watching the trailers (Maid of Honor okay? Mama Mia? Wanted, Dark Night?). This will be the ones I shall be saving for in the next few weeks. OMG mahal na ang sine, 170! shemay naman oh. Maybe, just maybe I shall shout to the world that life is like a ball of yarn just so I get a free movie from FA. Yahey! But as of now, I can only agree to 'Life is like a ball." HAHAHAHA Sorry, inside joke. I love Kung Fu Panda! I laughed, got teary, and had 'awww' moments throughout the movie. Moral lesson: Believe.

So Dear God, I BELIEVE I will get through this sem. After this, I am wiser, smarter, and better.

* * *
I still don't understand though, why life is like a ball of yarn. HAHAHAHA Disclaimer: This is not in the movie. hehehe

SATC

I am so loving Sex and the City the movie. I cannot miss it for the world so today, in its first day of showing, I made a date with myself to go see it. I super enjoyed myself and I recommend it to all you ladies and ladies at heart. If you love Gossip Girl's fashion, you'll love SATC's too! Well, one thing they do have in common is that they are all from New York. I will try to not spoil the movie here but forgive me for quoting Jennifer Hudson's character.

Carrie: Why did you come to New York?
Louie: To fall in love.

This movie is all about love. All sorts of love. Love for friends, for yourself, and for that special someone. It is a perfect mix of laughter, wit and that good ol' 'i'm-here-for-you-no-matter-what' drama.

Go grab yourself a ticket and fall in love with Manhattan- the fashion, the people, and the city itself.

You just might find yourself wanting a martini after.
