Shopping wishlist!

I've been dying to go shopping the whole summer. I failed to do so because one, I was so afraid to spend my money due to my lack of job. And second, my supposedly companion, mom couldn't stand the long walks from shop to shop. She's asthmatic kasi. hehe And besides, I don't know what I want yet.

But I did a little scouring over the net and here are some stuff I think I like to get.

Beige Bag for Mom. She asked me if she can have any of my beige bags (I have 4) and I told her to take her pick. She didn't take any of it. Ewan ko ba bakit haha But I'll get her something that's designed for her. She's flying back on July 12 because Lola is coming home from the States. I'm excited!

something like this
Strappy heels for me! I'm dying to get something 'not me' for a change. haha Wala lang, it can just sit on the rack until the perfect occasion comes and I can use it. HAHAHA I was hoping I could use it for work. Thing is...I don't have work.

something like this also. (This is a Guiseppe Zanotti cut out boot)

A dress to be kept for emergency dates. I want to be prepared the next time I go out with my friends. Myghad imagine my horror when we decided to go to Attica. I was in jeans and my trusty Hush Puppies flats. I thought kasi we were gonna take a stroll in Boni High lang so the laid back outfit was perfect We did take a stroll in Boni BUT NO...We went sorta clubbing in Attica after. Originally for a round of drinks but we ended up dancing for fun every now and then. GHAD. Buti nalang it was dark. ahahahaha

I dunno what else I wanna get. Probably another sling bag or leather bag- whichever is nicer.

Gaaah! I'm so materialistic. hehe But I think it's not that bad coz I buy for other people naman. HAHAHA I shall dispose some of my shoes and bags soon. So I can welcome more change in my life...at least in my wardrobe.

Note to self: Set a limit for tomorrow's shopping. You'll appreciate it when you get home.

Oracle Dinner and something else

FRIDAY
I had my longest interview day evaaah. I was scheduled at 8:30 and then I took 3 batches of exams with four exams in each batch so hello 12 exams. I finished answering everything a little before 12 noon so the receptionist told me and the other applicant to grab lunch and come back at 1:30. We had lunch together. Turns out it was the other applicant's first time in Eastwood that's why she wanted to come with me for lunch. Usually pag ganto, I don't want to mingle much coz shempre mejo naiilang ka pa and then competitor mo siya for the position and also, basta spell AWKWARD. Yun yon. Hassle pa. Anyhooo, we got back to the office at 1:30 and then  guess what...I GOT INTERVIEWED AT 3 PM. Buti nalang the interviewer, the marketing director was super cool. After that, I was asked to stay for another interview with the HR manager. OMG barok. I vividly remember her saying "So why did you said that you are fit for this job?" And I just had to faint inside. hahaha

After the interview with the HR manager at 4 pm, I literally rushed to the cinemas to catch the 4:30 showing of Angels and Demons with Fa. I loved the movie. We then drove to The Fort to meet up with Oracle Group- Punky, Dianne, Vicki, Pat, Kyle, Vicki plus Cheska, Steeps and Mark Go. Super mega lamon at Red Kimono. Late birthday treat of Punky. hehe We talked about so many things- including the Hayden-Katrina scandal. hahaha After that crazy dinner, we walked around Boni High Street and played at Timezone. We decided to grab some drinks thanks to Jave's prodding so we went to Attica at A Venue in Makati Avenue.

I got home around 3 AM and fell asleep quickly. I realized I'm getting old and hindi na ako party person. HAHA Iba na ang focus ko in life. chos!

SATURDAY...the something else

We went to SM today to do some major grocery shopping before my parents and brother leave for Iloilo tomorrow. The lined up for a counter. In front of our big cart was a lady with a basket only. Tapos mom notice the SUPER BIG CART lined up in the lane next to us (you know in groceries they have this basket with a special cart, the normal cart and the big cart na usually pang sari-sari store shopping or fiesta level of purchases). Tapos anak pala nung manang sa big cart yung babae sa harap namin. So ang intention was ipinila niya yung small cart sa lane namin, ipinila niya yung big cart sa lane na isa tapos since mauuna sa amin, isisingit niya yung big cart sa harap namin. BASTUSAN. My dad objected to what the manang wanted and she argued back. Basta she kept battling to put her huge cart on our lane so my dad called the guard nearby and said "Guard, ayusin mo toh. Ipinila niya dun at ipinila niya dito, tapos isisingit niya." Well, the manang gave in (but she was really mad) and pulled her daughter to her original lane. TAPOS CAN I JUST SAY??? YUNG DAMBUHALA NIYANG ANAK NAG SALITA PA. She said a word which I didn't hear but she followed up by saying 'that's the simplest way to define it.' SHE EVEN SAID TO MY MOM 'STOP!' PARANG PUTANGINA* MO DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO MY MOTHER THAT WAY. In fairness to her mother, sinaway naman siya na stop na but both of them were mad. Tapos ang nakakatawa, lumipat rin sila eventually sa likod namin. Ayun lang daldal pa ng daldal yung anak niya. May tinawagan pa sa phone para magsumbong. Siguro di niya kinaya yung embarrassment. Kami naman nila Daddy, we were very calm. Our voices aren't raised. And as for me, I even said 'Sumisingit PO kayo.' I was very respectful. PASALAMAT SIYA HINDI KO PINATULAN ANAK NIYA. HELLO. BAKA GUSTO NIYA MAKATIKIM NG SALITANG UP CBA?

Anyhoo, I will avoid making it a personal issue and will try to avoid calling the daughter dambuhala but here's my two cents on this. Think of the line in the comfort rooms. In civilized places such as in Shangri La Mall, there is a single line in the banyo so everyone stays there. It's like you're getting equal chances in any cubicle coz you're technically lining up in all cubicles. Now in banyos like SM... You line up on the door which you think will open soonest. YOU CAN'T LINE UP BETWEEN TWO DOORS and then pretend to line up in door #1 when it opens first.

One: Konting breeding naman at civilization diba? Isang entity ka lang, therefore you are entitled to a single space in a line. If you have two karts but will be paid in one transaction, then you stay in a single line!

Two: When you are caught in an argument and then it gets settled, SHUT THAT BIG MOUTH ALREADY. Stop dropping comments and 'parinigs' kasi ang loser loser mo. NAPAKA WALANG BREEDING.

Three: Magcocomment ka nalang, pa English-English ka pa. Thank God for a UP CBA education, I was intelligent enough not to stoop down to her level. Hindi ko siya papatulan. I won't make a scene inside a supermarket or elsewhere for that matter. Malay ko ba saang school siya galing. I would have bragged and said UP AKO, IKAW? Nothing beats the UP brand. But in case she was from UP, well I'm sorry but I am from CBA. Nothing beats CBA culture-wise.

Four: Common sense. Have some consideration. Kaya kami pumila sa lane na yun kasi inassume namin mabilis lang. Tapos isisingit mo ang isang malaking cart sa harap namin? You should be decent enough to respect other people's time and effort. Shempre naiistorbo rin kami kahit papaano. Di mo ba naisip yun? Well, I can't blame her if she didn't think of that.

Fifth: Respect. This boils back to breeding again. The way you talk, argue and act shows your culture. And I can really say I did a better job than her daughter. I argued with respect. She raised her voice and acted as if napaka respetado niya. I did not raise my voice while talking to her mother. So can I just say PUTANGINA* MONG DAMBUHALA KA. PAG NAKITA KITA HUMANDA KA TALAGA. YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER ME BUT I WILL REMEMBER YOU. I'M THE CRAZY BITCH AROUND HERE YOU KNOW.

*I don't curse in my blog entries but this super pissed me off. Excuse the profanity this time.

Someday it'll be my turn!

Earlier I was watching the Juday-Ryan special on ABS-CBN. And I'm like...GHAD WHAT DID YOU DO TO DESERVE ALL THESE?

photo from weddingsatwork.com
For the record lang noh? I am not a Juday fan. But I have seen her films, in fairness. She's is a good actress and I really appreciate that. I enjoyed a lot of her movies rin. It's a known fact to close friends that I am a Cinema One advocate and having said that, I think it is my pseudo-responsibility (haha) to know her movies and the quotable quotes of her characters.

Anyway, back to my point. Can I just say??? ANG SWERTE MO JUDAAAAY! Not because she married THE Ryan Agoncillo (but of course that's part of it). But more than that, she found a best friend and partner that will love her more than anything else and any other person in this whole wide world. I mean HOW KILIG IS THAT? As in suuuuper inggit talaga ako. AT TAKE NOTE! NAIIYAK AKO AFTER THE WEDDING SPECIAL. I think it's because I'm so inggit (in a good way). I'm excited to know when it'll happen to me also.

But of course just like what old people advise, let's just enjoy life and things will fall into place at the right place and time. So now I'm like...BUT WHEEEEN?! ahahahaha crazy me. crazy thoughts.

Good job! One day... someday. HAHAHA

*Kawawa naman si Fa. Still sulking over THE Ryan A.
Quoted from Facebook: "Thank you Ryan Agoncillo for implementing our casualan/rockNroll/casualan dream wedding with Juday."

Whattup?

I earned some dough from Dad today. He made me do his expense reports and promised I'd get 5% of face value of the total amount. Yahooooo! Ang saya rumaket! So far I've earned something like three days worth of allowance already. It's funny to note that I've been waaay more thrifty now than when I was in school. Probably because I don't need to regularly replenish my wardrobe, or that there are less 'dine outs' with friends now. But still, I'm lovin' the thrift mode. I wanna surprise myself one day when I check my savings, I have enough funds to take me to Batanes. hehe

I miss Dianne. She's probably sick of tempura and sushi now, and is preoccupied with Arigato-ing and praying not to get AH1N1 a.k.a. swine flu in Japan. HAHA We'll have lunch when she gets back. Lot's of catching up to doooo. I miss everyone actually. Even my high school friends! I hope our Boracay plans are still up. It's way cheaper there in June. yey!

Lately I've been searching recipes I wanna try out once mom, dad, and Joop leaves for Iloilo. I will own the kitchen again. YEY! I'm craving for Thai Chicken Salad from CPK. It's my favorite salad in CPK (coz really, I haven't tried anything else, hahaha!) It's super yummy, I actually googled a generic thai chicken salad recipe. I shall try this soon. ANG SARAP KUMAIN. SORRY NAMAN.

Anyway, change topic! (Kiwi! - inside joke. My apologies.)

Julian's growing fast! On Monday he turns 6 months and can start eating solid food already. It has to be unflavored and soft though, in other words lugaw. He is very playful!

I'm excited to bring him to places, teach him badminton, and enroll him in piano lessons. HAHA Yes, I think I will sponsor his piano lessons. Only my mom knows how to play the piano that's why I want someone in his generation to learn it too. But since I won't have a child anytime soon, siya nalang.  I really want a pearl white grand piano in my dream house. That will be my gift to mom and Julian and myself. Ayyy Lord, gusto ko marunong mag piano yung magiging asawa ko. ahahaha

Speaking of my dream house... I have been collecting visual pegs for my ultimate dream house. I have also lightly joked to Fa that Ernan will do it (he's an architecture student now). By the time he finishes, hopefully I've started saving up for the house. I want a lot of different pegs and they're not even cohesive! Good luck naman Ernan! haha! How about you? Have you thought of your dream house? hehe

Anyhooo, I still have a lot to accomplish pala! I wanna do them while mom is here to accompany me. That means I have one week.
1. My postal ID is in the works. Not important but serves as a valid ID.
2. Need to get my TIN # asap.
3. License!!!
4. Register for the elections.
5. NBI clearance.

Paranoia, confusion, and the random ideas in between

OK. HONESTLY? I don't know where my life is going right now. Quarter life crisis, is that you?!

First there's the employment (or lack of it). I planned on working in June but seems like I won't have a job in time for the start of June. I would start working before June if the job is something I really like OR if the pay is really good even if it's not my dream job. I'm afraid that everyone else has a job while I don't. As of today I turned down two interviews already. I feel bad about turning down the first one. The second one, I don't even remember the name. haha It's just that I don't see myself in that career.

I did make a few back up plans for the month of June.
1. Take kickboxing or the real boxing. At the very least jog around the village. But I want boxing more.
2. Enroll in photography classes once get my slr. I recently found out my late grandfather Lolo Jaime has a manual SLR somewhere here. I'll search for it soon and buy some good ol' film. Can't wait to get my dslr too! yahoooey!
3. Work for my dad. I actually like this one. haha One, I don't need to wake up at 6 AM everyday to get to the office. Two, I can manage my own time. And three, I can travel to places where dad goes. haha He jokes about it often. He said 'mag unahan tayo. Pag natapos ko na yung mga kailangan ko tapos wala ka pang trabaho, dito ka na.'  I'm very thankful to have this offer. But of course I don't want him to think that I don't want to find a job anymore since he offered me one. Hay, I just know that the right job for me will come. Maybe it's this or maybe not.

I am currently watching Kara David on I-witness. She mentioned she's in the town of Rizal, Palawan. This is  where the tallest tree (Manguis) in Southeast Asia is rooted and where the beautiful birds of the Philippines flock. And then an idea came upon me- maybe I could be a nature photographer and environmentalist like Mr. Cede Prudente of Sabah, Malaysia. He was featured in Trip na Trip. His parents are from Iloilo City but migrated to Malaysia. He was born in Malaysia as well but mentioned that he is aware of his Filipino roots. (I actually believe he's a relative of one of my kabarkada in highschool- Kassy Prudente. I'll ask her nga when I visit Iloilo soon. haha)

So there. Such a random post. Oh, Isadora is back from Beijing! Can't wait to see what she got for me. haha We're planning to visit Corregidor (and hopefully Zambales) soon. NOT overnight in Corregidor though- I'm scared!!! haha

* *
Yesterday we went to SMX to check out the food fair. I saw Veejay Floresca. He was friendly-really. I was sitting at Travel Cafe when he passed by. I quickly recognized him (yeah, hello Project Runway) so I smiled. He smiled back probably thinking to himself I'm a Project Runway fan. hahaha nice one!

Hey there Good Change

Hey, I appreciate you waking up to greet me at midnight. I know you're not an evening person. You love to sleep at any time of the day and you'd sleep early at night also. But waking up to greet me means a lot and I want to thank you for that.

Hey, I know we've been through a lot. We've shared so much in so little time. You make me smile like there's nothing wrong. You make me feel like I'm the best person you know.

Hey, now I'm older and wiser, and I have to act like one. I'll let things flow. I just want to let you go. Not that you were mine in the first place. Point is I don't want to make it seem like you mean the world to me. Because it shouldn't be that way.

But hey, don't feel so bad. You can always knock when you want to. When you need a reason to smile, I have reasons lined up for you. Ask for it okay?

Hey, I'M LETTING GO NOW.
         I'M LETTING GO.

Please make it easy. Or you can just give me a reason to stay.

* * *
Did you ever make that decision to shut someone out of your life because it's not the right thing? Like...maybe you're happier than he is. Or maybe you're not on the same plane- if you know what I mean. Or maybe you just want to avoid further complications?

I just want to keep my sanity and do the right thing. But I don't want to lose my happiness.

But oh well, not all the right things lead to happy things. In time, maybe this is an exception.

Two Decades and counting

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I got 56 greetings via ym, text, facebook, and in person. You guys made me so happy today.

We spent the whole day at home. Mom got me an Oreo cake from Red Ribbon, prepared bacon, pancit, turon and calamares just because it's my birthday. (Favorite ko yan lahat! Plus adobo haha) We'll celebrate tomorrow daw- Wolverine movie and lunch out. It seems like as I grow 'older', I tend to like quieter celebrations for myself. This of course does not apply to everyone. Take Aling Dionisia Pacquiao for example. She celebrated her 60th birthday in a debut-ish manner. good job! haha

Lord, thank you for 20 amazing years. I pray that many good things will come at the right time. Thank you!

* * *
I'm so happy to catch up with my high school friends. I plan to visit them in June. We'll all hit Boracay siguro after their board exams. Probably stay there for a few days then fly back here to continue my job hunting. I want to be back in time for Todo Patintero and some other stuff.

Speaking of job hunting...I found this article on JobsDB. It's about WHAT YOU CAN DO WHILE WAITING EMPLOYMENT. Let's see what I've done so far.

1. Research (on your desired industry). CHECK!
2. Read. I have started reading on stuff. But will intensify reading soon.
3. Travel. True, it doesn't cost a fortune to travel around the Philippines or Asia. Ang problema ko ay SWINE FLU at COMPANION. Hindi ko pa kaya mag travel alone- wala akong taga-picture. haha
4. Make an online resume. OH YES, I HAVE!
5. Visit exhibits, fairs and activities. Will do this when I get a chance.

Seems like I haven't done everything mentioned. So how did I spend my few weeks of joblessness?

1. Eating and sleeping. Lessening my guilt with L-Carnitine. haha
2. Malling. This is legwork for me. jeeez.
3. Got my cedula recently. Will get my NBI clearance, TIN number and driver's license next week. I'll be registering for the elections too. I wanna exercise my right to vote. LET US ALL TAKE A STAND AND VOTE!
4. Staying at home and watching over Julian.
5. Job hunting online.

Oh, in fairness productive pero kulang pa. haha I wanna jog but there's too many dogs in the village to run after me. haaaay.

I WANT

To watch the Archuleta- Cook Concert!!! AS IN I SUUUUUUPER WANT! But I don't have money. I don't want to settle for a ticket na sa big screen mo nalang sila makikita or parang langgam nalang. Gusto ko KARIR! I want TITANIUM (12+k) or PLATINUM (6+k) - nothing less! Ang layo na kaya ng VIP (3+k)! Pero sige papatulan ko na rin.

I can't believe ang mahal ng ticket! HELLO JOMARI YLLANA (organizer), ANG MAHAL NG TICKET! RECESSION KAYA!!!

And the concert falls on the day of my birthday! I can't believe I can't afford the best seat! aaagh! Eh shempre I need at least 25k for this coz I need to bring one friend- you know, kung di siya willing to pay, I'll pay for it. Corny naman if I have no one to share the kilig with. hahahaha

ONE DAY I WILL AFFORD ALL THE BEST SEATS IN THE CONCERTS I WANT. AKO PA ANG MAGPAPA CONCERT. HAHAHAHA

* * *
Lunch with Fa was fun and suuuper busog! Timmy dropped by also. Wala lang. Naki-aircon lang at iniwan rin kami. Ghad I missed Fa. Sayang Dianne wasn't able to make it. I bet mas laugh trip! YAY! See you when you get back from Japan! Don't forget my Royce chocolate (the Nama Chocolate white!)

Something new

NEWS FLASH: I didn't get the job or at least I didn't get a call when she said she would. hahahaha ok lang naman, but I sorta wanted that one. Too bad for me. Thank God I have a new neck piece to cushion the bad news. I got myself a birthday present from Promod. ahahaha

LORD, BIGYAN MO NAMAN AKO NG WORK PARA HINDI AKO MAKADAGDAG SA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE NG PILIPINAS. Thank you.

* * *

Today my mom and I went to Quiapo to hear mass. Shempre I went with her coz I had special intentions in mind. Pero I keep reciting the same wishes and prayers even when I'm at home so I dunno if it makes a difference in my merits. hehe

I'm excited for tomorrow- Lunch with Fa! And then Wolverine (haha I know, laggard) with the family in the evening.

p.s. This is what happens when you have too much time in your hands and not much contact with friends- you get to blog (almost) everyday. Haaay, mag b-boxing nalang ako sa June- Ma, penge pang enroll. YEHEY! Sometimes I wanna be emo but what the hell- emo is so overrated. senti- that's better. ahahahaha I miss you all!

Shobwiz Sighting

Today I had a job interview somewhere. hehehehe secret! Then I went to Trinoma to wait for my brother then we'd go home together. I saw Victor Basa but I was far from him- mga 5 or so meters. He was nice. Three manangs had their photo taken with him and he was happy naman to have his photo taken.

* * *

I saw a lot of good clothes today! I wanted to buy a lot but of course I didn't because one- I might not get the job so I won't get to use the clothes much. Two- sayang pera- baka wala pa akong trabaho tapos gagastos na ako. haha I remember Ace telling me that once he gets his first salary, he'll spend half of it buying clothes for work. I'M EXCITED! I WANNA SHOP FOR WORK CLOTHES ALSO! hahaha I wonder if I'll ever be used to wearing heels. I mean I do wear them but only when there's a need to- like reports, presentations, events, interviews. But 10 hours a day?!?! OMG. I've also observed while waiting that a lot were wearing flats too. So I think I'll be fine. But wait, another OMG...they have a uniform! ghhhaaad.

The good thing with uniform is that you need not worry about what to wear the next day. But it gets boring rin with uniforms. Pero I noticed some were not in uniforms! I wonder what their positions are. And oh, may cute! hahahaha yun ang winner! If I get the job, I'd hope and pray sana he's single and straight. Para fun naman ang work ko diba.

Oh well, I have to stop now before I type in even waaay more random thoughts. Ciao!

Brushing elbows with JC Buendia

JC Buendia designs the gowns of Kris Aquino in The Buzz and Pinoy Bingo Night and also made suits for no less than President Arroyo. These are only two of his many high profile clients.

Yesterday was my cousin Martina's 2nd birthday. It was a Luau-ish swimming party at Casa Verde in Pasig.

While eating starters at the table, two people arrived. A tall lady and a chubby man who was smiling as he greeted familiar faces.

Being the jologs that I am, shempre nakilala ko siya. I whispered to my mom, 'Ma, diba si JC Buendia yan? Yung sa Celebrity duets.' hahaha Well, my mom has so-so memory pag dating sa mga showbiz tidbits so she passed the question to my dad. Dad said 'Mukhang siya nga.' We sorta dropped the subject but deep inside I knew I was right. haha

Now 'JC' went to the buffet table so I told my mom...'O ma, punta ka na dun. Chikahin mo.' Haha malamang my mom declined noh! But she saw this kid approach the buffet table as well so she decided to go coz now this kid separated her from 'JC'. Well, you know how kids are. They pick what they want and go so that's exactly what happened! Now she's left with 'JC' at the buffet. hahaha Okay nothing amazing, they didn't talk. But when my mom  got back to our table she said...'Siya nga. Pinakilala siya kay *(I dunno who)* nung paalis na ng table. Sabi...This is JC.' Ahahahaha bionic ears ni mommy talaga oh.

I had to suppress the urge to have a picture taken. Shempre pareho kaming guest sa party- hello magkalevel. So ayun, di ako nag papicture.

Pero I realized...may ganun kayang job? Like Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada where she studies the profiles of her boss's acquaintances and then she whispers their names to the boss para kunyari the boss remembers them all. haha I'm good at faces and quite good with names- I can do that! haha

On JC Buendia naman...I think he's super nice. We were joking in the car on our way home na baka sa debut ni Martina, siya ang designer. hahaha

Haaay... Sana one day, I'll have the courage to approach the sikat people for a photo. If you know me well, then you'd understand that I share the showbiz bug with some friends like sina Peter, Atei Claire, Fa, RC, etc. Pero grabe I get startstruck or shall i say starstuck talaga. TAMEME. I've been like a foot away from Dennis Trillo, brushed elbows with PPB's Dionne and Bodie, encountered JAKE CUENCA at Eastwood, seen John Lloyd, as in madami pa, I can't recall na. Lahat yan TAMEME talaga ako. Nung UP Fair in fairness I have a photo with Bamboo (as in yung band, hindi lang si Bamboo), Marc Abaya, tapos sa ABAM si Fanny Serrano. haha Achieve!

Another episode of...ANG TANONG!

Ahahaha natatawa naman ako sa title ko. Anyhooo, this time it's on a more serious note.

After reading a post from a college friend and fellow blogger Javidoods, I thought to myself talaga...WHY? So ang tanong ay...

Why do I want to get a great, high-paying and enjoyable job? Take note ha, not just high-paying...ENJOYABLE DAPAT.

My reasons (superficial or otherwise) are as follows:
1. To finance my lifestyle. haha

I like to describe my spending habit this way- I don't spend a lot all the time. I choose what to spend for. I'm more of a quality over quantity person when it comes to my things. But I have learned in my long shopping days to find cheap thrills and good buys as well. Most of my money goes to my family, friends and myself. I use my funds to 'build and strengthen relationships'.

I've been saving up for a DLSR since my Cybershot died months ago. Thank God I found sponsors for it. My mom's siblings in the States will be getting it for me since I won't be availing of their grad treat (trip to the USA haha parang raffle). It's coming in July. Mejo matagal pa pero kebs. Now my savings will be in tact. Hopefully it'll be enough to keep me afloat while I wait for THE job.

2. To be able to travel to the many places I want to visit. My top destination goals are Batanes (ang mahaaaal ng airfare via SEAIR haha), Villa Milagros in Cebu, and Hundred Islands in Pangasinan. Actually I want to visit a lot of places in the Philippines but these three are my top of mind destinations. Out of the country destinations include Paris, New York and Burobudur in Indonesia. hehe

3. To be able to give back more. 'Nuff said.

4. To retire early. hahaha How I wish I could 'live on interest' by age **. hahaha secreeeet! Baka ma jinx!

5. To not feel like working at all. I want every working day something to look forward to. As many successful people say, do what you love and you won't be working at all.

Haaay, what's a girl to do? I just want to enjoy life. Can I get paid to do that? Please let me know. haha

Oh, which reminds me...someone already won the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD. Good for you Mister Ben Southall sir. YAY! Ako rin sana ganyan, kahit somewhere in the Philippines lang. hehe

Happy rainy vacation, y'all!

On the Martin Nievera issue...

I'm sure almost everyone heard about the upheaval of a lot of Filipinos regarding Martin Nievera's own version of Lupang Hinirang during the Pacquiao-Hatton fight in Vegas. Here's my two cents on the issue.

I believe that Martin did violate the Republic Act No. 8491 or the Flag Law. Section 37 of the law states: "The rendition of the National Anthem, whether played or sung, shall be in accordance with the musical arrangement and composition of Julian Felipe."* I know we all have our own versions of different songs but hello, this is THE National Anthem.

I remember Martin's interview saying '...people have been saying... I've violated a law that no one's even ever heard of' or something to that effect. To echo a proverb, Ignorance of law is no excuse for breaking it. I think he should have AT THE VERY LEAST apologized for 'overlooking' that detail. The fact that Maestro Ryan Cayabyab actually warned him not to rearrange the National Anthem also adds to my disgust. ALAM MO NA, ITUTULOY MO PA. You don't have to be intelligent to realize your mistake.

He also said in the same interview (paraphrased version) 'I don't have to apologize for anything... Enough people loved it (the singing)..." These people probably loved it because they didn't know the law as well. In other words, may pagkukulang rin sila. Sila pa ba yung paniniwalaan mo? The people who criticized Martin's rendition are those who are in the proper position to do so. And yet he settles by saying that enough people loved it? I can't believe this guy.

Isang kabastusan ang ginawa ni Martin. His 'popularity' in the music industry is not an excuse to overrule any law in the land. His arrogance is so irritating and insulting. I hope he realizes this mistake and apologize not simply to appease the people but for the sincere regret of his actions.

* RA 8491 description lifted from ivanhenares.com

p.s. I have nothing personal against Martin Nievera. He is a good singer and I respect that. I actually like a lot of his songs. This is more of what he did rather than who he is.

Stand by Me

edit: HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAM! I love you! Mwah! I hope your dream of becoming sikat will come true soon! Go lang ng go!

I got this from Sir Acedera. I always discover so much stuff from the cool links he posts.

I like this rendition. Super galing. It makes one feel a little better about the world. It makes you realize there is still goodness in this harsh life. Enjoy!

The description is from gizmodo.com

This cover of Stand By Me was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world. It all started with a base track—vocals and guitar—recorded on the streets of Santa Monica, California, by a street musician called Roger Ridley. The base track was then taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grandpa Elliott—a blind singer from the French Quarter—added vocals and harmonica while listening to Ridley's base track on headphones. In the same city, Washboard Chaz's added some metal percussion to it.

And from there, it just gets rock 'n' rolling bananas: The producers took the resulting mix all through Europe, Africa, and South America, adding new tracks with multiple instruments and vocals that were assembled in the final version you are seeing in this video. All done with a simple laptop and some microphones.

Long Weekend Topic Dump

Long Weekend nanaman- AS IF I CARE. I don't even have a job. hahaha I just couldn't think of a better title.

Here's another topic dump of the nice things that crossed my mind recently.

1. Camella Homes Ad. It's about time someone uploaded this video. The ad has been out for probably three weeks now and I still love it! haha

"SIKIP"

2. I just got a pm from my college friend/ blockmate Vincent Matias. He's venturing into Wedding Photography and I'm here to support him. Wooot! Vincent took our photos during the 18th Year of ABAM and he did really great.
Here are some of our shots from the ABAM pictorial.

More sample shots here.

For the more discerning and mature markets (like your titos and titas or older cousins), a more experienced photographer is at your service in the name of Robert Lester Aliscad (Robert Lester Photography) - dad of our UP batchmate (kala mo tagal nang graduate eh haha) Roselle. Oh btw, Happy Birthday Roselle! I love you!

Check out their website here.

3. And for the exciting part naman...Tet invited Fa and I (open invitation to the batch actually haha) to visit Cagayan de Oro for vacation. Well, Fa and I haven't talked about this yet but I am sooo happy to have this chance. I've always wanted to go back to CDO (been there yeaaaars back when Dad was still assigned in Mindanao). I wanna try the 4WD, White water rafting and all that adrenaline rushing shizzo. Ghad I do hope I could go.

* * *

In other thoughts...I've been reconsidering my options. I am pretty sure I won't be working this May. Weeks back, I said I wanna start working in June. But life's tough, mahirap mag hanap ng work ha!!! And I'm still happy being a bum. So I kinda reconsidered my time line. Come June and I'm jobless, I will take up a class- whatever that is. If not naman, dun ko na seseryosohin ang pagiging job seeker. Maybe go home to Iloilo first for a few days/weeks. BAHALA NA TALAGA. I don't want to overthink about the future. I'm just really glad my parents aren't cutting the financial support until I get a job. DREAM JOB, PLEASE TAKE ME.

Kayo? Who's got a job now? How's the vacation naman?
