I wanna be a billionaire.

Had I won that 750 million peso lotto draw, my plan was to build a students' center in UP. It'll house the orgs that will qualify certain standards. And then every certain period (say two years), orgs will be reevaluated. ABAM, of course gets its own space. haha

The center will have wireless internet, their own awesome cafeteria, meeting rooms, game rooms, event halls, the works! Pretty much like this office of Skype (photos from Interior Design ideas). The event halls will be available to other orgs too so they can hold their big events in campus.

Qualified orgs get their ID cards and will need to have it scanned (yes, hi-tech itetch!) before using meeting rooms. CCTVs will be installed all over the building to make sure no vandalizing and theft happens. And if it happens at all, we cant track em down.

Cleaners are assigned per day and per area. The cafeteria will have a 'clean your table before you leave' policy. No overnights allowed. The center will also have its set of officers who will lead projects that are socially relevant and will contribute to the academe and the society in general. The student center will also have a board of directors- composed of members of the alumni community, sponsors and professors who will evaluate projects, act as guardians to members, and ultimately, gather support to sustain the students center.

Non compliance to the house rules will lead to cancellation of membership to the students center and a one term ban from application.

HAHA OKAY, I'M GETTING TOO SERIOUS. TALAGANG NAPAG ISIPAN KO NA DIBA?

I still want to do this. Only it'll take a little longer and if I become a billionaire at all.

Oh what money could do. :)

Hey there Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS

SO PROUD OF THEM. I've seen the whole of Round 1, watched a few games in Round 2 (because I had to fly out for Dad's bday and the Azkals game) and I made sure I'm in Manila for the finals. Our boys definitely deserved this victory.

Confession

I seem to have forgotten where I left my blogging mojo (if I had any at all). Twitter sorta killed that part of me that wants and craves for a blogpost. But I'm working on it. hihi

I did write an entry about the strip party we had but I never posted it because I wasn't satisfied with how I put that night into words.

Anyway, I have three days left before flying to Iloilo. Saturday was fitness day with Jen. For the first time, Rach Sison joined us. Super mega endorse pa man din ako kay Rach to take classes with Coach Prince. Lo and behold, he made us do a solo freestyle in class! UGH. It was nice to know he remembers me but it wasn't the best feeling to be at the center of a circle of students and dancing while they all watch. Yikes! After the class, Jen and I had lunch and played badminton for an hour and a half before calling it a day.

I decided to hear mass because I was anticipating major body pains when I wake up the next day. But for some reason, I texted RC if he was going to the ABAM culminight party. I wasn't expecting he'd say yes because RC isn't exactly the partying kind of type but yes, he was planning on going. I hated myself for texting in mass because I hate people who do it but whatev. Suzie and Mark came too. Sir Capistrano was in the party as well. Kinda crazy to see him drink and grind on the dance floor.

"Oldies" Sir Capistrano, Oskie, RC, Issa, myself, Mark and Suzie (Photo from Chikk)

I met a lot of new members. There was one who looked like Bruno Mars- we just had to take a photo with him! I planned on going home early so I can wake up for the UP-DLSU game at 10 am the next day but fail. We left the party at 1, stayed at McDo and talked til 4 in the morning.

With Oskie, Suzie, Nico aka Bruno Mars

For comparison. Photo from Google.

Needless to say I did not make it to the game. But not really because I failed to wake up. I actually manage to get out of bed at 8:30. Unfortunately my friend Mau couldn't leave their college sports fest so I decided to just go to the mall coz I don't want to watch the game alone.

The game was a draw btw. So Mau and I have this theory which I will elaborate in a future post. We still have to verify if the results are replicable. hehe

I must admit, being in school, being with my org friends, and watching all those football matches made me feel so youthful. I guess Sir Nestle had a point when he told us in class 'If you wanna stay young, teach (or be in school).' Hopefully next sem Oskie, Suzie and I will be allowed to enroll in Theater 101. It's something I've never done! I wanna conquer my stage fright so game on! I'd have to call the department to ask if we're allowed. Now that I think about it, one reason why I wanna go back to school is to do the things I wasn't able to, or was too afraid to do back then. Now that I have my degree, going back to school is all about the 'nothing to lose, so much to gain' spirit. I'm more confident, I know the place better, I appreciate things more. I'm craving for that 'refreshing' feeling. Hopefully things turn out well in the summer when I prepare for school. hahaha

One last thing! I'm really loving the weather lately. It's so perfect I wish it stays this way. Sunny but cool- sarap!

The Sablay

Taken from the website of the Vice Chancellor for Research and development:

The UP Sablay is the official academic costume of the University of the Philippines. The official colors of the University, maroon and green, were used in the sablay. Yellow gold, which stands for the high standards of values and excellence, was also used. The colors, based on the Panthone ProSim color chart, are Panthone 195 CVP (maroon), Panthone 349 CVP (green), and Panthone 138 CVP (yellow gold). The indigenous letters originating from the indigenous alphabet called baybayin or katitikan, are equivalent to the Roman letters “U” and “P”, respectively. The curvilinear design called ukkil or ukit, which resembles a sprouting plant, signifies life. The geometric designs (in zigzag and diamond patterns) are common design elements gracing the attires and functional objects of indigenous peoples from Batanes to Tawi-tawi. Arranged continuously and rhythmically, these geometric designs highlight the diverse cultural communities in the Philippines and the University’s pursuit of knowledge, cultural enrichment, and scientific advancement.

Did you ever wonder who makes our sablay?

In my most recent trip to Iloilo, Mom and I visted a family friend who's a famous hablon maker in Iloilo because she was going to order a few pieces. When we entered their house, piles and piles of UP sablays were on their couch. She makes them year-round. (Well, if you supply the whole of UP System, you'll need the whole year to satisfy demand. hehe) She even took us to the workshop where they house hablon weavers. I felt so bad I didn't bring my camera so I just used my poor phone camera to take shots.

When we visited there were two ladies working. I have a feeling they're the only people assigned exclusively to weave the sablay. I observed how they shift the threads by stepping on some bamboo and then sliding the threads across the sheet. It's crazy. I did get to try weaving during a field trip in Ilocos. It was pretty easy but only because I just did the sliding of the thread (sorry, I don't know the exact term) a few times.

Anyway, this post is initially about my visit the the sablay weavers but I discovered while researching that some douche is selling our sablay on ebay as a 'Philippine souvenir'. I'm insulted! The sablay is something sacred for UP students. It's a symbol of hard work and excellence. You represent the university anywhere you go. When I attended my St. Benilde's graduation, there were around five professors wearing their sablay. Apparently professors wear the academic costumes of the schools where they graduated from. So others were in their togas with red, purple and blue bands- depending on the colors of their respective school. So you don't just sell the sablay as a souvenir. People work hard to earn the right of wearing one. I already messaged the office of the vice chancellor regarding this. I hope to hear from them soon.

CWC, Steve Martin and UP

Last night we just got back home at 11 pm from CWC. Too bad I didn't get to try wakeboarding. First, our schedule was packed with meetings and account visits. Two, I was with bosses old enough to be my parents and aunts so no one was as enthusiastic to try the sport. Three, the experienced ones were sooo good you wouldn't want to try it without another newbie in tow. I plan to drag my friends there though so sama sama na ang mga first timers!

I did however, witness great wakeboard skills from two hot guys. I love them! I was standing with one of my bosses near where guy1 was sitting. I was taking photos of his friend (guy2) while he was wakeboarding.
Guy 2

When he skipped the ramp I said to my boss "Sayang di siya nag ramp."
Guy 1 stood up and wore his high-end wakeboard gear and hopped to the platform. Sooo hottt. AND THEN GUESS WHAT, HE USED THE RAMP! Ugh. Methinks he heard my frustration on not seeing anyone use the ramp. I love you, dear stranger for that.

His gear. Took this photo while he was resting 2 feet away from where I'm standing. Kapal ko! :))
Likod palang, hottt na. Sorry no close up! Was shy! :)

(I hate my photos. I'm never quick enough to get a great moving shot. ugh. Thus I'm allotting my Christmas bonus to get myself a new digicam. hihi Maybe I'll loan my SLR to my brother.)

On our way back to Manila, I got a text from Jen saying Coach Prince believed I actually sprained my ankle from doing the Steve Martin step in heels! HAHAHA I can't wait to attend the next class! I have no idea how to tell him it was a joke. Speaking of our dance class, I'm so happy I found a video that's soooo similar to our first lesson. It's the same dance except for one step! So just imagine Fa, Jen and I doing this. :))

Steve Martin step on 0:29 onwards. (Imagine doing that in heels.)

And last but definitely the best... CONGRATULATIONS TO THE UP PEP SQUAD!!! The best routine evaaaar. Flawless! High-energy! Amazing. And I had the funnest time doing a pseudo tweet conference with my friends while we were in our homes watching the competition on TV!

UP Pep girls aren't the slimmest among the UAAP teams but watching their routine, they look like the lightest ones!

Few things

There are a few things that make me kilig

1. A cute guy who can pull off a small talk
2. A kilig gesture from unexpected people or friends (including girls)
3. Cheesy lines that work and you'd wish a guy will one day realize that line is perfect for you
4. Movies
5. And there's those intellectual conversations that you wish you could record and listen to again and again just to remember that you actually spoke those words.

Lunch at C! in Pampanga. photo from Weng

Yes, smart is sexy and I've been craving for intellectual conversations for quite a while now. Thanks to some friends, my long weekend was totally worth it. I miss my other friends as well. I bet we'd had wilder conversations if there were more. But it was good. I love UP friends.

Teachers and teaching

When I was a kid, I wanted to become a cashier. I thought they get all the money we give when we buy stuff. Of course it didn't take long to realize it's not too cool a job to be a cashier.

When I was in grade 6, I wanted to become a teacher. I had the best teachers so I wanted to become like them.

When I got into high school, I got turned off with my student teachers so I lost interest in becoming a teacher. Don't get me wrong though. My teachers were good- but you see I attended high school in a state university where senior college students taking up Education are 'trained' to teach in the grade school and high school departments. Many times I get impatient with ineffective student teachers. Or overly strict ones. Or those who simply lack common sense. I'd get into 'diplomatic' arguments with them whenever I couldn't understand what they were explaining. Quite a few times in Physics class I kept 'arguing', not because I didn't understand but because I felt she's the one who's confused. We have books so it was pretty easy to sense if she was telling us the right stuff. I wanted our argument to become an 'AAAAH GETS!' moment for my other classmates. Until our real teacher (her supervisor) noticed I was asking too much. He intervened and ask what's up. So I explained my question and my answer to that question to my teacher. Bottom line: I was right, so he let our student teacher sit at the back of the room and took over the lesson and explained the problem the same way I explained it to him and my student teacher. EEEK, I'M SO MEAN! hahaha Until now I remember that scene. It's one of those times I was hungry for answers- not for myself but for the whole class. I wanted all of us to understand it, not just me.

Obviously I graduated high school NOT wanting to be a teacher. Actually, I still want to teach but I wasn't willing to take Education as a course. Based on my experience in high school, I've concluded that not everyone who finished Education can teach. And not all who didn't take up Education as a course cannot teach. I actually hope that in the future, people who pass a certain standard will be allowed to teach- regardless if they own an Education degree or not. With the poor standards of education and teachers right now ( no offense to teachers but let's face it, all the good ones are in private schools, top universities, or abroad), we really need help from those who can share knowledge.

It takes skills and passion to be a teacher. Students can feel passion. And passion is contagious. How would you like to wake up early in the morning to attend the most boring, monotone, bookish class evaaar? NOT NICE RIGHT? But you'd definitely want to get up for school if you're in for another exciting exchange of knowledge.

Today I find myself back to wanting to be a teacher. But that'd mean I'll be a student first. I've actually drafted my short-term plan for 2011. And yes, it includes going back to school. I just have to give it a shot to stop all the what-ifs on my mind.

Wish me luuuuck!

Short term plans

While reading Bob Ong, my desire to study the culture of the Philippines just became stronger. I want to learn everything about our culture and eventually share it to Filipino kids who somehow, I feel, lack that sense of pride in being Filipino. I wanna be the ambassador of Filipino culture- take the knowledge to different schools sothat the passion for this country is sowed at a young age. I'd like to have Ma'am Norma Respicio as my mentor. But that's just because she's the only professor I've met who knows so much about the traditional Philippine culture. She's a super cool prof.
From L-R: Ram, Jewel, Myself, Ma'am Respi, Emm, Bee, Marian, Ali, Panx, Olga and Cancan
My best summer class in college.

Right now I really pray that Joop makes it to UP Diliman. Please pray for him too. If he makes it, my dad plans to take classes in UP too. Wala lang. Trip lang daw niya. So sasama ako, I'll take classes too. HAHA I super- AS IN MAJOR- want to learn about traditional culture and know everything by heart just like I know bags and brands.

Note to self: Start researching on Ma'am Respi's classes. Promise I will make time and drop by CAL to ask for their course outlines.

I'm from UP. And yes, I'm an activist.

There's something about attending UP that makes me so proud. Aside from being in THE best campus, THE center of academic excellence and THE benchmark of achievement in the country, there's really something about the culture that I really really love.

There's so much 'soul' about being a UP student/graduate. We're not detached from reality. We're grounded. We're rooted to the culture of the Filipino. We aren't blinded by wealth or 'coolness'. Let me explain...

It's nine days before the elections and a lot of people on Facebook have been posting their bets and their sentiments about the election. And most of them, as in 98% are my friends from UP. I felt like it's the most normal thing to do.

Siguro there's a little 'tibak' (activist in UP slang) in all UP graduates. It's innate to speak our minds and get involved in things that affect the country and our fellow Filipinos.

I've never heard my contacts from Ateneo or DLSU speak about their bets. Never campaigned for them. Never even posted a single thing about politics. I've had one from CSB- it's not even my brother. A friend is voting for Noynoy because he's a superfan of Kris Aquino. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO APPRECIATE THAT KIND OF REASONING. I've read about one taxi driver who's voting for Noynoy because he has the yellow sticker. (OHGHAD KILL ME NOW. I don't even know which reason is more pathetic- being a fan of Kris or having the sticker.)

Sometimes I think twice, even thrice before posting or sharing a shout out or political article online. In my mind 'siguro iniisip nila taga UP talaga ako kasi napaka aktibista ko'. It's the stereotype eh. Everyone who's not from UP think we're activists. They think all we do is rally in the streets, scream and fight with policemen.

Of course we, UP people know better. Heck, in UP people from my college (CBA) are perceived to be apathetic towards social issues. No matter what 'outsiders' say, I still believe in fighting for this country. There is no room for alibis at this time. All we have is room for improvement. WE'VE HAD SO MUCH ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT BUT WE NEVER REALLY IMPROVED. It's empty and waiting.

Now let's allow this Dick to enter the room. Maybe then we'll see the change. DICK GORDON FOR PRESIDENT!

(HAHAHAHA Nagets mo noh?)

Re previous post

Yesterday I spent the whole day being with friends. Lunch with Dianne, checked out ABAM's event and then dinner with my groupie loves. It was amazing!
* * *
Sometime this afternoon I had a conversation with a friend and this person made a comment comparing me to one of our friends too. (Won't use he or she coz it'll be pretty easy to figure out haha)

Anyway, friend said "Ikaw, anong ginagawa mo? Nagso-soul searching ka ba? Para kang si *insert common friend's name*"

It came as nega to me (mamatay na lahat ng nega hahaha) because this friend was sort of implying na wala akong ginagawa in my life. Dude kung alam mo lang. Ang saya ko. Una-una lang yan. Kung busy ka ngayon at ako hindi, pasensyahan tayo. Dadating rin ako sa point na busy ako. But one thing's for sure I am busy.

Busy enjoying the benefits of my job. Imagine spending time with your family, friends and with yourself? Imagine taking a break if you want to. Imagine doing everything else that you like because your work allows you to do so.

This friend even said 'Wala ka bang balak ipractice yung inaral mong field?' Definitely I have plans to be in the field of business. I am in the field of business. Just not the same industry as yours.

OKAY ENOUGH SAID.

That's the 'problem' with the way our school reared us. Everyone expects that after school, you'd enter law school or the corporate world- banking, finance, consumer goods. Anything outside that, outlier ka, wala kang plano sa buhay. BS. And for that alone, I appreciate Ateneo's way of rearing business students to have an entrepreneurial mindset. Ateneo entrep mindset+ UP CBA culture + UP campus = perfect. Maybe in the future.

THE Awwwww Moments :)

I just got home from a dinner with some BA friends. I really missed going out with them. Jave was getting emo he reminisced about how we'd drive to Eastwood to eat or watch a movie after class. Sweeeet! I remember we had merienda at Jack's Loft then watched 300. I really wanna remember all the fuuun college memories I had with everyone. I firmly believe college is a part of my life that I don't want to forget. Except feasib. ahahaha

And then today I just witnessed the most kilig 'look' on a guy's face when he saw his female friend appreciate the same thing he likes. Super awwww! EEEH I'M NOT DROPPING NAMES but I swear I fainted deep inside. hahaha

Sayang Kyle arrived when we already dispersed to go home. hahaha Mali eh. Katawa!

I really hope the weekend plans push thru. I'm so bitin kanina. I'm sure we all have a lot to talk about. Like college secrets that we can now reveal because it's so passe already. hahaha

Another awww moment was when I saw the current photos of my engaged crush (haha giveaway), in my mind "Isn't he lovely?" He is such a family guy he actually skipped a school engagement to be with his family abroad. I mean that's really nice he's happy but it just seems soooo fast (?). Sometimes my friends and I would joke about him not waiting for us. hahaha But still. It doesn't change the fact that he's such a sweetie even to his family. I am tempted to post a wacky photo but nevermind. haha

What are your awww moments in college? Share naman! :) Keep making memories y'all! mmmwah!

HAPPY!

I'm very pleased with the results of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2009! But before I drop my two cents on this topic I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to ABS-CBN's TFC-Now for the FREE live stream of the competition! I LOVE YOU, ABS-CBN!

Back to the results... Like the whole UP population, I really believe UP Pep did an awesome job! But every year, just like us, the other schools also try their best to improve. The Ateneo BBB and FEU Tams can attest to that. I liked both and I really think they deserved to win.

I've been reading the forum about the result of the competition. I really appreciate the people who liked UP's routine. I am very flattered to be from UP and you guys are so sweet. I also find the thank you's from the other schools very sweet. There were people from FEU who thanked UP for rooting for them. Also from Ateneo. Don't worry guys. We UP people cheer for those who deserve it. Lastly, I really appreciate those from UST who try to appease and calm their fellow schoolmates who keep posting rude comments on the forum. At least we know there are still level-headed people in UST. Lahat naman ng schools may black sheeps na talagang mag t-trash talk sa mga forums na yan. Even from our school, meron. But I personally support the healthy competition that UAAP aims to foster. Let's not stoop down to the level of black sheeps- regardless of which school they're from.

Let's not hate some schools too much ok? I know sometimes we have to fight back for the love of the school. Pero hanggang kaya pa, let's keep it classy.

Congratulations everyone! I love UP! Great job FEU and Ateneo!

Here's the UP Pep's performance. :) Enjoy!

SERIOUS STUFF

Weh? Chos!

I've gathered some stuff that seriously made my week.

Quotable chuva:

1. From Ghea: "You cannot hold on to so much...inventory." - BA 141 Prof Panira daw sa emo. haha)

2. From Nicoleheyala on Wowowee: " Sa mga ex-boyfriends ko...Mahal ko kayo noon, maglaway kayo ngayon." HAHAHA I SUPER LIKE. Give me a few years before I can use this.

3. From Aleli: Para akong astronaut...I seriously need some space.  -bumenta rin sakin!

And this last one, the video...made me miss UP more!!! I want Rodic's!

Anyhoo, click click and enjoy!
P.S.
Shane Van Boening, USA's #1 billiards player, was in Wowowee today. I have no idea about billiards, all the more I have no idea who Van Boening is. But today in Wowowee, Pokwang asked a player in hephep hurray who he's with and he said "I'm with my friend Shane, he's the number 1 billiards player in the US." Haha Ni-google ko nga. Totoo!!! hahaha katawa!

Oracle Dinner and something else

FRIDAY
I had my longest interview day evaaah. I was scheduled at 8:30 and then I took 3 batches of exams with four exams in each batch so hello 12 exams. I finished answering everything a little before 12 noon so the receptionist told me and the other applicant to grab lunch and come back at 1:30. We had lunch together. Turns out it was the other applicant's first time in Eastwood that's why she wanted to come with me for lunch. Usually pag ganto, I don't want to mingle much coz shempre mejo naiilang ka pa and then competitor mo siya for the position and also, basta spell AWKWARD. Yun yon. Hassle pa. Anyhooo, we got back to the office at 1:30 and then  guess what...I GOT INTERVIEWED AT 3 PM. Buti nalang the interviewer, the marketing director was super cool. After that, I was asked to stay for another interview with the HR manager. OMG barok. I vividly remember her saying "So why did you said that you are fit for this job?" And I just had to faint inside. hahaha

After the interview with the HR manager at 4 pm, I literally rushed to the cinemas to catch the 4:30 showing of Angels and Demons with Fa. I loved the movie. We then drove to The Fort to meet up with Oracle Group- Punky, Dianne, Vicki, Pat, Kyle, Vicki plus Cheska, Steeps and Mark Go. Super mega lamon at Red Kimono. Late birthday treat of Punky. hehe We talked about so many things- including the Hayden-Katrina scandal. hahaha After that crazy dinner, we walked around Boni High Street and played at Timezone. We decided to grab some drinks thanks to Jave's prodding so we went to Attica at A Venue in Makati Avenue.

I got home around 3 AM and fell asleep quickly. I realized I'm getting old and hindi na ako party person. HAHA Iba na ang focus ko in life. chos!

SATURDAY...the something else

We went to SM today to do some major grocery shopping before my parents and brother leave for Iloilo tomorrow. The lined up for a counter. In front of our big cart was a lady with a basket only. Tapos mom notice the SUPER BIG CART lined up in the lane next to us (you know in groceries they have this basket with a special cart, the normal cart and the big cart na usually pang sari-sari store shopping or fiesta level of purchases). Tapos anak pala nung manang sa big cart yung babae sa harap namin. So ang intention was ipinila niya yung small cart sa lane namin, ipinila niya yung big cart sa lane na isa tapos since mauuna sa amin, isisingit niya yung big cart sa harap namin. BASTUSAN. My dad objected to what the manang wanted and she argued back. Basta she kept battling to put her huge cart on our lane so my dad called the guard nearby and said "Guard, ayusin mo toh. Ipinila niya dun at ipinila niya dito, tapos isisingit niya." Well, the manang gave in (but she was really mad) and pulled her daughter to her original lane. TAPOS CAN I JUST SAY??? YUNG DAMBUHALA NIYANG ANAK NAG SALITA PA. She said a word which I didn't hear but she followed up by saying 'that's the simplest way to define it.' SHE EVEN SAID TO MY MOM 'STOP!' PARANG PUTANGINA* MO DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO MY MOTHER THAT WAY. In fairness to her mother, sinaway naman siya na stop na but both of them were mad. Tapos ang nakakatawa, lumipat rin sila eventually sa likod namin. Ayun lang daldal pa ng daldal yung anak niya. May tinawagan pa sa phone para magsumbong. Siguro di niya kinaya yung embarrassment. Kami naman nila Daddy, we were very calm. Our voices aren't raised. And as for me, I even said 'Sumisingit PO kayo.' I was very respectful. PASALAMAT SIYA HINDI KO PINATULAN ANAK NIYA. HELLO. BAKA GUSTO NIYA MAKATIKIM NG SALITANG UP CBA?

Anyhoo, I will avoid making it a personal issue and will try to avoid calling the daughter dambuhala but here's my two cents on this. Think of the line in the comfort rooms. In civilized places such as in Shangri La Mall, there is a single line in the banyo so everyone stays there. It's like you're getting equal chances in any cubicle coz you're technically lining up in all cubicles. Now in banyos like SM... You line up on the door which you think will open soonest. YOU CAN'T LINE UP BETWEEN TWO DOORS and then pretend to line up in door #1 when it opens first.

One: Konting breeding naman at civilization diba? Isang entity ka lang, therefore you are entitled to a single space in a line. If you have two karts but will be paid in one transaction, then you stay in a single line!

Two: When you are caught in an argument and then it gets settled, SHUT THAT BIG MOUTH ALREADY. Stop dropping comments and 'parinigs' kasi ang loser loser mo. NAPAKA WALANG BREEDING.

Three: Magcocomment ka nalang, pa English-English ka pa. Thank God for a UP CBA education, I was intelligent enough not to stoop down to her level. Hindi ko siya papatulan. I won't make a scene inside a supermarket or elsewhere for that matter. Malay ko ba saang school siya galing. I would have bragged and said UP AKO, IKAW? Nothing beats the UP brand. But in case she was from UP, well I'm sorry but I am from CBA. Nothing beats CBA culture-wise.

Four: Common sense. Have some consideration. Kaya kami pumila sa lane na yun kasi inassume namin mabilis lang. Tapos isisingit mo ang isang malaking cart sa harap namin? You should be decent enough to respect other people's time and effort. Shempre naiistorbo rin kami kahit papaano. Di mo ba naisip yun? Well, I can't blame her if she didn't think of that.

Fifth: Respect. This boils back to breeding again. The way you talk, argue and act shows your culture. And I can really say I did a better job than her daughter. I argued with respect. She raised her voice and acted as if napaka respetado niya. I did not raise my voice while talking to her mother. So can I just say PUTANGINA* MONG DAMBUHALA KA. PAG NAKITA KITA HUMANDA KA TALAGA. YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER ME BUT I WILL REMEMBER YOU. I'M THE CRAZY BITCH AROUND HERE YOU KNOW.

*I don't curse in my blog entries but this super pissed me off. Excuse the profanity this time.

TOKAYO

Tokayo is a local term for someone whom you share a name with. I dunno if it's Tagalog though.

I know it's crazy but while googling my crush(haha!), I googled myself also for the heck of it. I thought my name was unique but guess what? There exist another Adeliza Garcia! I'm assuming she's from Mexico because almost all her friends on Facebook are Mexicans. haha Wala lang, naloka lang ako. Maybe one day I shall contact her or something. Parang si Nica Yan (tama ba Nica? You emailed the lady whose name is Veronica Yan also? Or imbento lang ako?)

Buti rin pala on Facebook my profile name is Adz.

Sa ABS-CBN meron rin production team na Adz ang name pero guy. hehe Nakita ko lang sa credits ng Pinoy Fear Factor. Sa Soc Sci class ko before, I had a classmate and group mate na Adz rin. His real name was Adrielli so I call him Rielli (as in Rie-lee).

Well, FYI my nickname at home is Lee. (That explains my multiply site name and this blog's name.) I wonder how different it would be if my college friends knew me as Lee Garcia? HAHA! Only Punky calls me Lee. I've known Punky since freshman year. And yes, she was one of my first friends-slash-seatmates in UP. And at that time, I was still battling whether I'd want to be called Adz or Lee in college. KAKALOKA TALAGA, PROMISE. Sir Raya calls me Lee too! haha Sir Jet, Ms. Chin and Sir Ray call me Adz.

Oh well, just my random thought for today.

* * *

So far I still haven't found the  right words to write. Or maybe the right topic to write about. Or maybe I know what I want to write about but I keep postponing it. Hoooboy. HELL WEEK IS SOOO HERE.

AND SO I LOST IT

HELLO UP STUDENTS? WHERE ARE YOUR PRINCIPLES?

Yesterday while waiting at the College of Science Auditorium for Nat Sci 2 class, I was texting with my mom. During class, I placed my phone (face down) on the desk of my seat. Our professor dismissed us suddenly so I immediately left my seat. The desk is black, my phone is black. So yeah, camouflage. I realized I left my phone only when I got back to BA so I took a cab to rush back to CS. I talked to the maintenance people and to my professor and both said no phone was turned over to them earlier. Weng called my phone and said 'cannot be reached'. Right then, I started to accept my loss.

To explain my first statement... Well, I'm taking this Leadership class under Procter&Gamble's Jim Lafferty. I love this class coz I really am learning so much from it. Last week he taught us about the first E...Energizing, and the Moral right to lead. Which led to the statement:

A PRINCIPLE IS NOT A PRINCIPLE UNTIL IT COST YOU SOMETHING.

Jim said 'your principles right now are merely statements. Until you are in a situation that will put these principles to test.

So now here comes a student who sees a phone left on the table. Will you take it or will you surrender it to your professor? Will you keep it or will you find the owner? If you take it, fine, no one will know. No one saw you. But you will forever be haunted by the fact that the phone you are using is a product of your weakness and selfish act. If you return it, you'll be forever remembered by the owner to be an honest person. You'll sleep calm, and walk with dignity. In either decision, what will it cost you? Well, self worth and self respect.

Whoever took my phone, I wish he is happy. Coz he will burn in hell. He probably has no idea that KARMA IS A BITCH.

I feel so bad because first...It's my first time to lose a phone. Second, I have to rebuild my contacts list. Third, I love that phone. It's the James Bond phone from Casino Royale. I treasure the messages in that phone. The photos I took. Ghaaad. It's fine with me to change my phone, but not that way! I change phones for the following reasons: one, i got it as a gift; two, my phone died (as in nasira for good), and just recently the third reason- it got stolen.

On my way back to BA from a meeting at AS, I saw Peter walking and joined him. Peter who has lost more gadgets in a single day than I did in my entire life, talked me into taking the whole thing lightly. Well, I was taking it lightly. I didn't cry over it. I'm just glad he understands the feeling. He said 'ay mahirap talaga. take it from me!' And i chuckled. hahaha It feels good to just get though the day.

I'm still alive naman. Just feel like a little (if not totally) disconnected to the world. I'm dependent on my mom to call me on the landline to wake me up everyday. I'm dependent on YM to update my org directors and avps. I even joked to Dianne this morning while using her phone to text my mom 'Kawawa naman ako, squatter ng cellphone.' hahaha Oh well papel, Thank God for Globe rebates, I'm getting a new phone for free! Not as cool as my James Bond phone but a phone nonetheless. To add to that, it's not just me who's getting a new phone. My whole family is getting new ones! Jom, Joop and I are getting the same models. Mom's getting a Samsung slide phone, and my dad's buying his own. After sooo many years of getting us new phones, my dad's getting one for himself. He deserves it.

Oh well, i guess that's the brighter side of the situation.

Just a thought, I change phones (whether I like it or not) every two years. Kakaloka. Ayoko na mag palit. I'm over the phone frenzy. haha I just want a call-text-good photos-weekly alarm phone and I'm good to go.

AND OH!

CONGRATULATIONS BIZCON TEAM! Punky, Vicki, Jeni, Mau, Vincent, Emm and to everyone who helped make it a successful event. SOSH standing room!!! Pressure sa next org events haha! Yay ABAM!
