I tweeted about the video of Cebu's dancing inmates two days ago. Yesterday it was all over television and I am just so glad these inmates are getting their much deserved attention. This is beyond Will Devaugn's special apperance (heck, I didn't even see him! hahaha)
This Is It
If you've seen the video, you'd notice how clean the place is. Then the inmates. Imagine how much effort and discipline they put in each routine. In this particular video, they only had two days to learn the routine and then shoot na. Grabe, I can't imagine. Beyond being part of the DVD of This Is It, this is about hope for these inmates. This is a message that they can do something else. That they are likable and people respect them for what they do. Their image is soooo far from the Pinoy movies where prison cells are dirty, stinky, cramped and full of addicts and goon-like men. Dang, if I ever had to be imprisoned I'd like to be imprisoned in Cebu. HAHAHA
I just love it when these kinds of stories boost the morale of the Filipinos. When I visit Cebu, I hope to watch their performance. haha! And I read that the lead guy in this next video was given the role as a farewell performance because he will be moved to Muntinlupa Prison to serve three consecutive life sentences for triple murder. (huhuhu nakakaiyak!) See how much they give importance to these kinds of moments? The performance is like a 'pabaon' of good and groovy memories. gaaah ok I better stop writing because I'm at the verge of crying. hahaha The humor in the intro is a little offensive for the lead man pero keri naman coz he was joking too so sige na. game, watch na!
My tooth operation pushed through in the afternoon. I AM SOOO DEPENDENT ON PAINKILLERS. Not because it's painful but because I don't wait to reach the point where I'd feel the pain. hihi
I wanna volunteer for the relief operations but I can't because of my operation. I shouldn't be doing strenuous stuff for a few days because my stitches might bleed. Imagine a bleeding mouth while doing relief operations diba? hahaha
I also need to save up na for a new phone. I wanted to use the iphone that dad gave me last year. It's been just an itouch to me since that time because I can't seem to adjust to the querty touch screen and the chat type SMS. I would have wanted it converted but they said it'll erase all the files in it. hohum. I'm thinking I'll use it nalang when my current cheap (free!) Ericsson phone retires for good and then get a new phone when I have enough funds for it.
Lots of plans for Christmas! Lots of plans, lack of funds that is. HAHAHA But before Christmas, sembreak muna! Mau, Carms, Ana, Kara and I are planning a Baguio trip for THEIR sembreak. I hope it pushes through. I haven't been to Baguio in 12 years (i think). It changed a lot na, that I'm sure. But still.
And finally, I am so effin excited for Monday! Because Monday is TELESERYE day. Hahaha I'm baduy like that. haha And to my loves Nica and Elai, here's our favorite scene of the moment. Happy kilig-ing! :D
There's this new show on Bravo TV (yes, meaning we get to watch it online lang). It's a 'reality' show about real New Yorker teens who live in the Upper East and West Sides. The show follows their lives as they tackle the childish world of crushes, climbing the social ladder, parties, fake id's and hooking up with ex-boyfriends. LIKE HELLO?
I watched it last night on youtube (haha hindi pa sila sikat so wala pa sa torrent) and ghad I'm irritated but hooked just because I wanna see how it'd differ from Gossip Girl. The thing is- the characters are sort of rip-offs from Gossip Girl. They have their version of Jenny Humphrey (that girl in red), Chuck Bass (the guy with bad hair and blue tie) and their very own Blair Waldorf (obviously that girl with the headband). We all know I love Gossip Girl so I have high expectations from NYC Prep. Unfortunately, these kids just can't be at the level of the lives of S and B.
I'm quite interested to see how things go though. Can you believe how many 'like's' were said during the whole episode? Like super lots!!! Like this corner of the road, like when you turn left, like there's this vintage store that sells like really cool stuff. GHAAAD.
Basta, you have to watch it yourself para mas gets. haha And oh, though they didn't live up to my expectations, I'll watch the next few episodes pa rin...just because. haha
Long Weekend nanaman- AS IF I CARE. I don't even have a job. hahaha I just couldn't think of a better title.
Here's another topic dump of the nice things that crossed my mind recently.
1. Camella Homes Ad. It's about time someone uploaded this video. The ad has been out for probably three weeks now and I still love it! haha
"SIKIP"
2. I just got a pm from my college friend/ blockmate Vincent Matias. He's venturing into Wedding Photography and I'm here to support him. Wooot! Vincent took our photos during the 18th Year of ABAM and he did really great.
Here are some of our shots from the ABAM pictorial.
For the more discerning and mature markets (like your titos and titas or older cousins), a more experienced photographer is at your service in the name of Robert Lester Aliscad (Robert Lester Photography) - dad of our UP batchmate (kala mo tagal nang graduate eh haha) Roselle. Oh btw, Happy Birthday Roselle! I love you!
3. And for the exciting part naman...Tet invited Fa and I (open invitation to the batch actually haha) to visit Cagayan de Oro for vacation. Well, Fa and I haven't talked about this yet but I am sooo happy to have this chance. I've always wanted to go back to CDO (been there yeaaaars back when Dad was still assigned in Mindanao). I wanna try the 4WD, White water rafting and all that adrenaline rushing shizzo. Ghad I do hope I could go.

In other thoughts...I've been reconsidering my options. I am pretty sure I won't be working this May. Weeks back, I said I wanna start working in June. But life's tough, mahirap mag hanap ng work ha!!! And I'm still happy being a bum. So I kinda reconsidered my time line. Come June and I'm jobless, I will take up a class- whatever that is. If not naman, dun ko na seseryosohin ang pagiging job seeker. Maybe go home to Iloilo first for a few days/weeks. BAHALA NA TALAGA. I don't want to overthink about the future. I'm just really glad my parents aren't cutting the financial support until I get a job. DREAM JOB, PLEASE TAKE ME.
Kayo? Who's got a job now? How's the vacation naman?
I appreciate talent. I love it when people showcase what they can do. Especially in singing.
Years ago I thought Charice Pempengco was good. I first saw her in this segment in MTB where you will sing a line in a certain song tapos pataas ng pataas yung pitch. I forgot the name of of the game pero i remember 'To reach the unreachable star" was one of the lines sang (pero not by Charice.) Anyhoo, point is, its been a long journey for her to reach her dreams pero at least bongga na siya ngayon. Minsan nga nakakapagod na marinig eh.HAHA gujab teh!
Eto isang pang bongga. Got this link from Weng. Eh naintriga me. It's a clip from Britain's Got Talent. Isa pang GUJAB TEH!
Bawal i-embed yung video so check so click here! Enjoooy!
I suuuper love watching TV. My friends can attest to that. Whenever there's a new ad, I know it agad! I can happily stay at home and just watch the television. Nung may cable, super saya. Kahit wala nang cable, ok lang, masaya pa rin! haha
Aside from movie reruns of my favorite Pinoy movies, I love watching late night documentaries. As in Reporter's Notebook, Correspondents, i-witness, Kalye. Lahat yan! Also Urban Zone and Trip na Trip.
At this moment I am watching The Correspondents. Tonight's feature is entitled BUSERO. It talks about the life of the fishermen of Rosario, Cavite. As in omg mega tears galore ako. HAHAHA I'm such a softie pag mga ganyang stuff. I really wanna do the same- like make documentaries about normal people's lives, open other people's eyes on what's really happening to our fellowmen. You'll realize how much injustice there is in the country. WHERE DO OUR TAXES GO? Hello!!! Wake up corrupt people. You'll all die and rot in hell. Imagine how much damage you've caused the nation? Ghad I hate politicians!
I guess it's safe to say this is my dream job. I feel that I can serve the country this way. As in homayghad, give me a job in the network and I will make my way up there.
If not naman, probably I want to be super mega rich so I can help them in my own way.
I recommend that you guys watch these docus also. It's a real treat for the mind, and the heart. So ayun, I'm just saying hindi nasasayang ang oras ko sa panonood ng TV. hahaha
What's so great about a Thursday? Well, if your day starts at 6:30 in the morning, to get ready for your 8:30 class (that includes coffee time, bath time, dress-up and commute), and the day ends at 7 pm, there's nothing really to be happy about.
BUT NOT TODAY.
Every Thursday, when I hear my phone alarm bugging me, I hold this mental 'pep talk' saying OKAY, KEEP IN MIND, IT'S 178 DAY TODAY. GET UP. So there, I make it on time always. I have a long break too! 11:30- 2:30 to be exact. I usually spend it at the tambayan, attending meetings or just catching up with the ABAMers. My next class, project management, is suuuper boring I really just want to sleep. It's too structured for someone like me. I usually am very flexible when it comes to facilitating projects. Lastly, my 4-7 class kills the energy in me. It's very interesting and insightful. It's just that, by that time, I am already drained for the day.
So today, i said it was different. For one, 178 was fun(ny!) Two, FA and I got together again after her sabbatical for PANA. We watched Twilight. haha! And three, special treat!!! After the movie, we walked by Jake Cuenca! HOMAYGHADDD. He saw me freeze upon seeing him. Hahaha I bet he laughed at me. Ask FA how I looked like. Shet talaga I died for 10 seconds. hahaha Fourth, I decided to use my BDJ coupon at Coffee Bean. It's the buy a frappe and get another for free. Shempre Fa got the free one. Turns out, I didn't pay at all. Shet winner! It's either she forgot, or she didn't understand the coupon right. haha
As Fa and I enjoyed our Caramel blended ice al fresco style, lo and behold Jake passed again! He passed, and passed and passed until this lucky gutsy manong 'small talked' him. Jake said 'uy! kumuha lang ako ng shades ko.' Feeling ko chummy talaga sila and then nagkita sila and hi hello. Si manong parang tagalinis ata somewhere, coz he was carrying a mop and a plastic container which scooped the mop strands. Ang cool talaga, in fairness kay Jake, ma chummy regardless of who they are. I even joked to Fa "mare, pag si John Lloyd yan, I apologize in advance pero iiwanan kita dito sa lamesa. hahaha" And she goes, "ok lang, naiintindihan ko. Kasi ako makikitakbo rin." HAHAHAHA
I missed our Eastwood days! We even did out traditional 'tearing of the movie ticket' hahaha!
I' I wish Wonder Girls and Gay can go out soon! Comedy bar tayo! at yung spooftacular showdown! And I'm just super happy that this was our first real bonding gimik after her sabbatical moment. I'm glad it's such a winning moment- all of it. Love freebies- caramel blended ice, and a cutie pie? YAY TO THAT!
Due to my unexplainable avoidance of the computer, I have accumulated quite a collection of topics for this blog. But now that I have the energy to type, imma put them all here.now.
NEW ADS I can't get over the new ads on tv. Not that I love them all but you know, it's crazy when they all start flashing on prime time and lunch break shows. Here are my picks!
BPI's new ad- "Brand New Day". We're changing the rules on banking. That's the message they're shouting to the world. it is sooo effing amazing. BPI revamped their banking system from 3-day check clearance to REAL TIME clearance. From atm replacement and check encashment in your home branch to any branch. It's amazing.
MERALCO's Christmas ad. Yay to the appearance of Mr. Tony Meloto of Gawad Kalinga! I clearly remember last October he graced our Advertising class to give a short talk on 'giving back to society'. I can still recall how I felt after his speech. He was so inspiring! Mind you, I was two feet away from him. hahaha For my classmates who were at his talk, remember he said a lot of big brands wanna be affiliated with GK? Well, that leads me to my next ad.
GOLDILOCKS. Kris Aquino introduces the new CSR of Goldilocks. This Christmas season, Goldilocks together with Gawad Kalinga join forces to provide homes for the less fortunate. I'm not sure how it works but if my memory serves me right, when you buy their cakes, part of the money is donated to GK. I still love Red Ribbon more. But it's fine, great effort to Goldilocks!
DESTINATIONS! I was watching the Excecutive Class on ANC hosted by David Celdran and he featured two lovely destinations- CamSur and Palawan. That time I just got back a few days before from Palawan so I decided to relive my short vacation by watching it. The CamSur segment focused on the Camarines Sur Watersports Complex and the different choices for lodging. There was the container vans, the more upscale Villa del Rey cabanas, and a little farther is the GK Bed & Breakfast. Yep, Gawad Kalinga. hahaha There's much power in this advocacy pala, hahaha.
198 Class This is the leadership class every Saturday under P&G's Jim Lafferty. He's never showed up for the past two meetings. Nevertheless those two meetings were fun! First one was intro and expectation citing per group. The second one, Mr. Angkush, HR director of P&G Philippines was our speaker. He talked about vision and it was super fun and enlightening. I was so amazed with my realizations, and right now I just really wanna work on achieving my visions. haha Our (Dianny, Punky and I) major dilemma will be the conflict with PI 100's lakbay aral. We will have two- Intramuros and Banahaw. If 198 is always this fun, how can I miss a class? haha! I hope I enjoy PI. haaay.
NEW LIST Okay, so due to the global financial crisis, I have decided to provide a realistic and practical Christmas wish list.
Game!
1. New Planner! Something that's gonna be handy even after grad because the coming year won't be much of schoolwork. HAHA Punky's helping me with the Starbucks stickers. If i don't finish it, I'll probably get the Belle de Jour again. I haven't seen the Starbucks one though. But form afar, it resembles a national bookstore planner. hahaha
2. A 'corporate' watch. By corporate, i mean something I can wear to work. I love love love watches. Next to bags and shoes, it's the next item I love. I wish my dad will give me one. Para na rin may sentimental value haha
3. A job I really really want. Of course, every fresh grad will want a job he/she will love forever. And shempre, sayang naman corporate watch ko kung wala akong trabaho noh! hahaha
4. An amaaaazing sem! Nuff said.
5. A great new sosh life for the fresh grad. hahahaha
THE GOOD TYPE OF INGGIT And finally, Weng sent me a link to this girl's debut. GUESS WHO IS HER SURPRISE GUEST? ELY BUENDIAAAAAAAA. huhuhuhuhuhu Turns out she adoooores him suuuuper. Eh her mom pala is a good friend of Ely even before he started in the music industry. ayan tuloy, mega serenade ng With A Smile. sheeeet. nakaka inggit pero good for her. We all have dreams. She got hers. Happy birthday. hahaha She's a Philo major in UP pala. Hay naker. CALLING ALL MY FRIENDS: JOHN LLOYD (Caloy, I know you can do this!) OR ELY (Mare, connection of the connection? haha) IS FINE WITH ME. hahahaha
thanks to ivymen.multiply.com for the photo.
There goes my blog dump. I have to get my 'school mode' back. It seems like I always wanna go home lately. Which I shouldn't. Coz I have to make this sem count, and going home isn't exactly the best way to do it. haha So let's make this sem count ayt? tara gimik!
OKAAAAY GOSSIP GIRL IS SOOO NEAR. Season 2 starts September 1 in the States, so we are all gonna witness it September 2. OMG. At least there's something that can keep me distracted until January 8. hahaha
I have seen the photos of the rumored LOCAL VERSION OF GOSSIP GIRL brought to us by ABS-CBN. I don't really buy it. haha I'd much rather want Carla Humphries as Blair. Wala lang, top of mind choice ko lang. haha CAMERA CAFE. Have you ever seen this show in GMA? It is soooo funny, I love it! I have learned it started in France in September 11, 2001 (yup, same day as the WTC bombing). Anyway, here's an episode.
Today I went home right after class so I could really rest. I'm still not better. Just this morning I started taking my new medicines. I am now on antibiotics and anti-asthma meds. My doctor must have given me anti-asthma since my cough is really bad. Anyway, I decided to ban school stuff for today- just good ol' TV and rest and siesta. yey! Here's what I got.
Kilig number 1: I got home and was able to catch Romantic Princess on TV. HAHAHA I really enjoy this story. It's light and cute. But not so realistic, at least in a Filipino setting. Ralph (Calvin Chen) said 'Sampung taon? Possible bang mahalin ka ng babae sa loob ng sampung taon? Nakakatuwa naman isipin.' Because there's this girl who got into a deal with their rich grandfather. She was to pretend she's marrying Jin (Wu Chun) so that he will be pressured to admit that he loves Jannah. Turns out, this fake fiancée loves Ralph, not Jin. So when she finally admits her true feelings, Jin whispered to Ralph 'Pinaghandaan ka niya ng sampung taon.'
Kilig number 2: LOBO ending. I'm not a big fan of this teleserye but I have a thing for endings. I find it interesting to watch endings even of those teleseryes I don't religiously follow. Noah (Piolo) was super wounded he was gonna die. Lyka (Angel) was shot also because she begged to die since Noah was gonna die. Noah's last words were 'Hindi man sa lupa, sa langit. Hindi man ngayon, sa susunod kong buhay.' And Angel said 'Ikaw at ikaw pa rin.' And hello, hindi sila namatay. HAHA
Kilig number 3: PDA. Ryan Cayabyab has a new song he composed for the PDA scholars. This evening's episode he made them sing it. And OMG I totally love it. I am actually a fan of Filipino music- especially the mellow ones. I really believe Filipinos are one of the sweetest and most romantic people in the world. This characteristic greatly reflects in our music and Ryan Cayabyab is one of the most brilliant song writers talaga along with George Canseco, Louie Ocampo and Ogie Alcasid to name a few. The title is Another Goodbye Song. It's emotional, it's sad. But it was really beautiful- the melody, the lyrics, and okay, the voices of the PDA scholars did it justice. After the song Mister C gestured his hands trailed from his eyes to his cheeks. Sort of like 'nakakaiyak' and he mouthed 'It's so beautiful.' Damn right Mister C. Now make an album and I'll buy one! Errrr OR download the song at least? hehehehe
So there, the three things that made me emo today. I miss loving. I just realized I've been to busy with all the work- majors, org work, plus my health condition. I miss getting kilig. Good thing there are still ways to feel the love.
I think it's amazing when we find ourselves facing someone without feeling anything AT ALL. They're the people who make us go jell-O when we see them even from afar. I think the feeling is still there but this time i knew very well that it is better this way, that it isn't working for me and for the other party as well. Yay, I'm happier, I guess.
HAVE YOU HEARD? The ultimate fashyon series comes back with an uber bongga episode! Now that B and S are totally back, it is indeed going to be a great summer. And welcome the new bitch y'all. Watch Episode 14 to get the latest buzz in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. xoxo.
SPOTTED Might as well make use of the GG hormones. Richard Gomez was in school today. He is enrolled in the UP Open University and is currently taking his CWTS units in the College of Arts and Letters. I am not a big fan but howell, we ran intohim one too many times today and in the coming days, fo sho. Some kolehiyalas mustered courage and talked to him, asked for photos (Anabee and I saw them while walking to grab food at KATAG). Our classes end at the same time so as we were walking out of the building, a bunch of students kept sticking with him wherever he went. I mean, hello? I really think they just want to be affiliated with Richard. It's funny, how they follow him around. HAHAHAHA He walked to the faculty parking and hopped into his light blue Jaguar. ohkamown! foyn foyn foyn, nangaasar ka ba? try mo mag limousine minsan ok? Anabee, Emm, Arlo and I walked past his car, in the middle of the road. He didn't blow his horn, thank God. First, because he is a public figure. Second, because he is in a school zone. And third, because naka Jaguar siya at nakakahiyang magbusina sa UP when you are in a Jaguar. Tomorrow we'll see him again. Oh, did i tell you he can be seen from our classroom window? hahaha choz!
EXCITEMENT I am excited about (1) my Art Studies trip to Ilocos. I've never been there so I am so thrilled. And of course, authentic ilocos empanada and BAGNET! I swear I'll bring home bagnet. Lots of it.haha Also, we're allowed to bring friends! Mareng FA showed great interest in it. Also Andy. If every BA classmate brings a BA friend, it's gonna be a happy trip. yey!
(2) My summer vacation when summer term ends. Most probably in Bicol. First would be a 10 hour trip by land to the beautiful city of Naga. A great thing about Naga's 'bayan' is that it's small so you won't really need to ride jeeps or tricycles. From the hotel, we'd always walk to the restaurants to eat our meals. And on our way back, we never fail to drop by the plaza to buy balut for my brother Joop. He loves balut and gets to eat it only when he's 'on vacation'. I am also gonna get to eat at my favorite resto in Naga, The Red Platter. It's tradition- when in Naga, must eat at least once at the Red Platter. It's sort of a finer version of Gerry's here in Manila. Plus we just might go wake boarding which I am dying to try. Then off to a three hour road trip to Sorsogon where endless beach trips and eating will happen. (Oh no.) I think I want a tan. Actually, not a tan. Just a pretty golden tint and some pink 'burnt' cheeks before I get back to school.
I used to hate it when I get dark because of swimming. But when I got older, I realized after a few weeks, you actually go back to your original color so whatthehell. Enjoy the beach. When not satisfied, buy papaya soap. hahahaha
(3) My birthday, which I have no idea what's gonna happen because I still do not know where I'll spend it.
(4) And of course, my last year in college. Ought to be the best.
Cheers to today's happy thoughts! ♥

This is technically my 100th post. Woopeeeedooo! If you take a closer look at the sidebar, there are actually 97 posts. The 'missing' entries are entries I just wrote for myself, just so I have some place to keep it.
