Why Gossip Girl is such a treat

If you haven't seen it yet, go download Gossip Girl S03e18 now na.

My dream dress just appeared. And it was no less than Blair Waldorf who was wearing it. The color is one of my ultimate favorites- champagne! Farrah can attest to that. Grabe I am in love with Episode 18. Even Chuck's tie is a delight!

I pay more and more attention in every episode of Gossip Girl ever since the first time I watched it. Before all I watch is the story- at face value. Then the clothes, then the hair, then the quotable quotes, then how hot Nate Archibald is especially with messy hair, etc. etc.

Now I pay attention to details such as the music, the colors and patterns of Chuck's ties, the brands of their bags and dresses. I just love everything about GG except Dan and Vanessa. Such a waste of airtime. hahahaha

And oh, if you've seen the episode, you'd notice that Dan's scenes make a lot more sense when Vanessa isn't in them. hahaha

Can't wait for ep19!

NYC Prep

There's this new show on Bravo TV (yes, meaning we get to watch it online lang). It's a 'reality' show about real New Yorker teens who live in the Upper East and West Sides. The show follows their lives as they tackle the childish world of crushes, climbing the social ladder, parties, fake id's and hooking up with ex-boyfriends. LIKE HELLO?

I watched it last night on youtube (haha hindi pa sila sikat so wala pa sa torrent) and ghad I'm irritated but hooked just because I wanna see how it'd differ from Gossip Girl. The thing is- the characters are sort of rip-offs from Gossip Girl. They have their version of Jenny Humphrey (that girl in red), Chuck Bass (the guy with bad hair and blue tie) and their very own Blair Waldorf (obviously that girl with the headband). We all know I love Gossip Girl so I have high expectations from NYC Prep. Unfortunately, these kids just can't be at the level of the lives of S and B.

I'm quite interested to see how things go though. Can you believe how many 'like's' were said during the whole episode? Like super lots!!! Like this corner of the road, like when you turn left, like there's this vintage store that sells like really cool stuff. GHAAAD.

Basta, you have to watch it yourself para mas gets. haha And oh, though they didn't live up to my expectations, I'll watch the next few episodes pa rin...just because. haha

Filipino and Proud!

This post is about all things Filipino. I've always believed we are an amazing race and we are super blessed with an equally amazing country. Here are some stuff we can be proud of.

1. Mabuhay guides. I learned about them from Carlos Celdran's blog. They're a bunch of young Filipinos who underwent intensive training under the Department of Tourism. They are well versed about the Philippines- history, arts, culture, cuisine- basically anything Filipino. And their job? To be the official guides of prime ministers, diplomats and even celebrities who will visit the country. They will be earning P4,000 a day and P5,000 for those who know a foreign language other than English. Plus travel ang photo op- not bad. haha

2. Camiguin. They have their version of Boracay Island- only much peaceful and smaller. The White Island of Camiguin is known for its white (duh) sand. What's amazing is that this island only appears on a low tide. I've been here maybe 10 years ago and I can't wait to come back. That time, the manongs told us a story where a couple got stranded on the island so they had to stay overnight because the next banca will arrive in the morning. Shempre nag high tide, ayun naka tip-toe sila all night. hahaha benta talaga yung kwento.

3. Our  very own...KEBERLOO! hahaha Inspired by the hit tv series Gossip Girl, Emm Enriquez launched his own version. Keberloo stays in touch with the Pinoy culture as the non-incognito Keberloo talks about his (and his friends) adventures, random thoughts, kilig moments and whatnots. Sneak into Keberloo's crazy world here.

You know you love me

OKAAAAY GOSSIP GIRL IS SOOO NEAR. Season 2 starts September 1 in the States, so we are all gonna witness it September 2. OMG. At least there's something that can keep me distracted until January 8. hahaha

I have seen the photos of the rumored LOCAL VERSION OF GOSSIP GIRL brought to us by ABS-CBN. I don't really buy it. haha I'd much rather want Carla Humphries as Blair. Wala lang, top of mind choice ko lang. haha

CAMERA CAFE. Have you ever seen this show in GMA? It is soooo funny, I love it! I have learned it started in France in September 11, 2001 (yup, same day as the WTC bombing). Anyway, here's an episode.

Here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1qniuUPQpw&feature=related

There's more on youtube. haha

SATC

I am so loving Sex and the City the movie. I cannot miss it for the world so today, in its first day of showing, I made a date with myself to go see it. I super enjoyed myself and I recommend it to all you ladies and ladies at heart. If you love Gossip Girl's fashion, you'll love SATC's too! Well, one thing they do have in common is that they are all from New York. I will try to not spoil the movie here but forgive me for quoting Jennifer Hudson's character.

Carrie: Why did you come to New York?
Louie: To fall in love.

This movie is all about love. All sorts of love. Love for friends, for yourself, and for that special someone. It is a perfect mix of laughter, wit and that good ol' 'i'm-here-for-you-no-matter-what' drama.

Go grab yourself a ticket and fall in love with Manhattan- the fashion, the people, and the city itself.

You just might find yourself wanting a martini after.

Undergoing therapy

Part of the therapy chuva program I created for myself is just keep hurting until it all goes away. HAHAHA How sadistic is that? Anyhooo, nothing serious, just some good ol' friendship issue, that's all.

UPDATES!

CRS- got 18 units only to find out CS 197 (BA 198) was moved to the second sem. Feeling naman nila paimportante. I enlisted in the normal 198 class and I am fervently hoping that I get one of the three available slots left. Please please Lord. :)

ORG- My mom was generous enough to sponsor the supplies for ABAM so I bought the pens and sticky tapes and glue we will be needing in the future org activities. Oh how I love my mother. And I promised her I'd tell my orgmates she's my sponsor which I did in the 3 of our yahoo groups, hahaha Weeeee! Yun nalang ang token of appreciation from HR. haha

FAMILY- My dad upgraded my laptop from a 512 mb to a 1.5 Gb RAM which means FASTER programs, more multitasking opportunities, and more efficient work. Yey!

We had our last summer eat out also today since Mom and Joop will be flying back to Iloilo on Monday. Dad will be driving to Bicol to meet up with their clients in that region. He asked me if I wanted to come since enrollment won't be until June 6 but I declined since the drive is excruciatingly long, I made plans with some FA, I have to do work for ABAM as well as find my a room inside the campus.
We ate at jay-J's Chicken Inasal (we didn't order inasal, haha) and all I can say is I have never been this full in my life. My mom laughed at me when I told her I was so full. All she said was 'Savor the feeling. Matagal-tagal bago ka ulit mabusog ng ganyan." Hahaha That's because I have no cooking skills whatsoever (except pasta, and fried whatever). As some of you know, when I don't cook, Jollibee and KFC are my usual meals which my dad pointed out today as well. 'Pag alis namin magsasawa ka nanaman sa chicken joy.' Ugh, I don't want to eat fastfood or at least, not most of the time.

ME- therapy. haha
I'm excited for school to start! As in suuuper excited for my classes, for org events, for new knowledge (haha, geek-esque), and even for stress. I know, i know I shouldn't be excited for stress but I just love the rewarding feeling of waking up late on a weekend or the precious nod of your professor while voicing your thoughts. Lavet!

So there, those are the current things in my life. Gawd I miss Gossip Girl. Please please come soon season 2! According to Gossipgirl.tv "Gossip Girl Season 2 will kick off in August and the first episode will air in September. Now it's time to wish the Upper East Siders a very scandalous summer. You know you love it. XOXO."

Cheers to a happy rainy summer, y'all!

My 19th Birthday

Happy Birthday to me! and to my dear friend Leslie Huang!

Wholesome part of the day:

This morning I woke up 6 hours after finishing all my Psych requirements. While working on it, I got calls from friends, text messages and had YM windows popping on my screen, all containing birthday greetings. I love the greetings. It is really very flattering.

Anyhooo, my family went to Manila Ocean Park to see marine life up close. hahaha But diving at Donsol with the butandings is still the best experience. Anyway, the place is wide and interesting however the people were stubborn and disobeyed the rule on not using the camera flash. That really sucks. I mean, hello, at that age (parental age!??!?) how can they not obey the rules?!
family pic with the sharks

After the tour, we had lunch at Ozeano, the restaurant inside the oceanarium. Thanks Mom and Dad for the great lunch, educational trip and yummeh cake!

Batch bonding...I shall leave it to the photos. :)

Leslie and I
group shots
Let's not post the jumping jacks ok? hahahahaha So there, the booze was great (snaps for Jave!) and the company was cool. Music was so reminiscent of our clubbing days. CALLING MISTER MIGUEL ECHANIS. COME BACK NOW BECAUSE IT'S TIME TO PARTEEYH.

Here's one funny and unintentional photo...

Emm took this photo. I asked 'Is it nice?' And a tipsy voice said "It's suuper nice as in!" Then Emm shoved the cam on our faces saying 'it's like Gossip Girl." hahahaha

Who knows? Gossip Girl is just around the corner?
There's a new talk in town. Ever heard of practice what you preach? Looks like the preacher quite forgot about that.

One question's for certain...

Will there be a "Stay here and fight" moment soon, just like S and B?

I hope not.

Like they say, don't let anyone catch you with your pants down. Literally.

Hurray Hurray

PIECES
I think it's amazing when we find ourselves facing someone without feeling anything AT ALL. They're the people who make us go jell-O when we see them even from afar. I think the feeling is still there but this time i knew very well that it is better this way, that it isn't working for me and for the other party as well. Yay, I'm happier, I guess.

HAVE YOU HEARD?
The ultimate fashyon series comes back with an uber bongga episode! Now that B and S are totally back, it is indeed going to be a great summer. And welcome the new bitch y'all. Watch Episode 14 to get the latest buzz in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. xoxo.

SPOTTED
Might as well make use of the GG hormones. Richard Gomez was in school today. He is enrolled in the UP Open University and is currently taking his CWTS units in the College of Arts and Letters. I am not a big fan but howell, we ran into him one too many times today and in the coming days, fo sho. Some kolehiyalas mustered courage and talked to him, asked for photos (Anabee and I saw them while walking to grab food at KATAG). Our classes end at the same time so as we were walking out of the building, a bunch of students kept sticking with him wherever he went. I mean, hello? I really think they just want to be affiliated with Richard. It's funny, how they follow him around. HAHAHAHA He walked to the faculty parking and hopped into his light blue Jaguar. ohkamown! foyn foyn foyn, nangaasar ka ba? try mo mag limousine minsan ok? Anabee, Emm, Arlo and I walked past his car, in the middle of the road. He didn't blow his horn, thank God. First, because he is a public figure. Second, because he is in a school zone. And third, because naka Jaguar siya at nakakahiyang magbusina sa UP when you are in a Jaguar. Tomorrow we'll see him again. Oh, did i tell you he can be seen from our classroom window? hahaha choz!

EXCITEMENT
I am excited about
(1) my Art Studies trip to Ilocos. I've never been there so I am so thrilled. And of course, authentic ilocos empanada and BAGNET! I swear I'll bring home bagnet. Lots of it.haha Also, we're allowed to bring friends! Mareng FA showed great interest in it. Also Andy. If every BA classmate brings a BA friend, it's gonna be a happy trip. yey!

(2) My summer vacation when summer term ends. Most probably in Bicol. First would be a 10 hour trip by land to the beautiful city of Naga. A great thing about Naga's 'bayan' is that it's small so you won't really need to ride jeeps or tricycles.
From the hotel, we'd always walk to the restaurants to eat our meals. And on our way back, we never fail to drop by the plaza to buy balut for my brother Joop. He loves balut and gets to eat it only when he's 'on vacation'. I am also gonna get to eat at my favorite resto in Naga, The Red Platter. It's tradition- when in Naga, must eat at least once at the Red Platter. It's sort of a finer version of Gerry's here in Manila.
Plus we just might go wake boarding which I am dying to try. Then off to a three hour road trip to Sorsogon where endless beach trips and eating will happen. (Oh no.) I think I want a tan. Actually, not a tan. Just a pretty golden tint and some pink 'burnt' cheeks before I get back to school.

I used to hate it when I get dark because of swimming. But when I got older, I realized after a few weeks, you actually go back to your original color so whatthehell. Enjoy the beach. When not satisfied, buy papaya soap. hahahaha

(3) My birthday, which I have no idea what's gonna happen because I still do not know where I'll spend it.

(4) And of course, my last year in college. Ought to be the best.

Cheers to today's happy thoughts!

best

Today was fine. We finally have a new professor in Marketing, Miss Agatep. She is also the other block's professor. She's okay naman. At least more engaging than Dr.Ben Paul. Still, nothing compares to Ma'am Chin's great teaching skills. Fa, Punky, Vicki, Kyle, Pat and I had Yellow Cab Meatlovers Pizza delivered for lunch. Yay, Yum yum! Anyway, Law class was canceled. So maybe, today was great. We had this karaoke day as part of my business organization's week-long anniversary celebration. Yeah, I sang but never mind what I sang or what my score was. Everyone in the org believes that the karaoke was not in its best condition anyway. hahaha
* * *
Someone didn't speak to me today. But fine fine, I'm too happy to even mind. Okay, maybe I hated the fact we didn't speak, but I think I understand.

* * *
I just finished watching the last episode of Gossip Girl's first season. I've been going through lot lately. I feel confused, angry, jealous and happy all at the same time. If there's one thing I learned from Gossip Girl, it's being a friend.

I want to be like S. When she eats her pride at takes in a bullet for a B or Dan or Jenny. When no matter how bitchy B gets, she will still stick with her. The scene where she stopped B from leaving for France...it made me weak. I was touched.

"Stay and fight. I'll fight with you."
-S to B

But somehow, I find myself associated to B's character. She's nice but mean. She's sweet but cruel. She loves Nate so much even when there is no assurance of forever.

But it's fine. I think I'm actually moving to the character of S.

I'll give you time. But if you need me, I'm here.
Love,-

Isn't that so Serena?
I'm starting to be extra understanding, become sweeter to my good friends and trying to listen to people more. And of course, like S, fear nothing to take a chance on something like love.

Oh, did I just say love?
