Fridays have literally become a TGIF moment for most of us. Since the start of this Tuesday to Friday school days sked, we always find ourselves itching to reach Friday- when things can temporarily stop and people can unwind. And this Friday was no exception.
Yesterday, I was able to borrow Weng from Rhett for a movie at Eastwood. I gladly told Farrah about it so the three of us excitedly went to class, knowing we were gonna have a blast later in the evening. Three ladies in shorts and white tops that is. Kulang nalang isa pa, SATC na kami! hahaha
After visiting the College of Engineering for feasib ideas, we went back to BA to brainstorm while we wait until 7 pm for coding to stop. It was not a very productive feasib session, however, we did enjoy hanging out with Tim, Bobit, Jave, Vincent, and James. James of course was a different situation. Although he wasn't as annoying as he is during class. hahaha Gradually, people started to leave- Jave and Vincent left for DoTA, James just disappeared and Tim went to meet his 'boss' Kathy, Weng, Fa and I decided to leave for Eastwood too.
As girls would normally do it- we window-shopped before we finally went to the cinema to buy tickets for WANTED. However, a lot of people were watching it that the only seats left are for the 11-ish time slot. We decided to put the idea on hold since it was too late if Weng will join us. We decided to continue 'shopping' and then had dinner at Chowking.
While eating, a random guy with an accent called from behind our table asking if it was the only Chowking store in Eastwood. Fa and I said yes and casually resumed eating. After a few minutes, he asked us how he can get to Makati from Eastwood. We suggested he take a cab. However, he told us he is afraid to take a cab because he did earlier and the driver took him around Taguig before bringing him to Eastwood and he ended up paying 500 for his fare. He was afraid he'd be taken to some random places because he isn't familiar with Manila. A couple of moments (and questions) later, he requested if he could join us. Since he seemed harmless, we said yes and asked him to join us in the table. We casually asked from what country he is, what's he doing here in Manila, etc, etc. To cut the long story short, his name is Ali. He's from Atlanta and he's here to fix his papers so he can play in the PBA. He ended up in Eastwood because he was supposed to meet his friends. However his phone battery died, and he is using sun cellular so we ended up not being able to call his friends through my phone because of bad signal. He told us stories such as he was supposed to play for the Blue Eagles way back in 2001. He also explained he has a driver but the driver's wife is sick and had to go back to Pampanga to take care of her. He seemed really nice. He even said we were 'mabait' and promised he'd greet us on TV if ever he'd make it to PBA. hahahaha
After buying our ticket for the 11:50 showing, the three of us bid Ali goodbye and met up with Jave and Cheska for margaritas. Jave texted me for drinks when we were with Ali at Chowking. We gladly told them what happened to us and we sure did have a good laugh. Weng, Fa and I took turns telling them our story and the two seemed to enjoy laughing at what happened. Jave agreed to pay half of our drinks and we gladly ordered their buy 2 take 1 margarita. Just perfect for the three of us! I must admit, I totally missed the taste of margarita. It reminds me of late night partying or simply late night drnkscapades with Miggy, Anabee, Don, Fa, Joseph, etc. Along with the groovy RnB and hiphop music being mixed by the DJ (beside our table), it felt just like the good old days, only more laid back.
With such ambiance, I cannot help but think of the next five months of work. That includes endless presentations, group meetings, cases, CEO events, individual homeworks and feasibility study. Which only spells one thing- STRESS. We are destined to be the most boring creatures in the academic world in the next five months.
But so far, I have done a few things to de-stress. That includes getting enough sleep during weekends, watching movies every chance I get, and of course, sharing a laugh or two with the batch mates I love. As for you-
what have you done lately?
:))
Cheers to sabaw-ness and happy margarita nights!
